Great news for me about buying local

My reaction to General White exactly Chad. Doubt it would ever be a favorite, given other choices. But those choices get taken away, at least I know it will do. And I find great comfort in that.

i dunno....I have visions of an annual snus cruise. We all chip in, snus cruise to scandavia every year. Cargo hold full of snus on the return journey.

I thinks we need to do this anyway! Wonder if Elixyr can make a snus infused with Dramamine?

okay, a little overexaggeration, sorry.

found a store in little rock, a few miles from where i work. they sell general snus. that's it, but STILL, in the event ANYTHING happens, i like general, i can buy it local. that made my day.

there's a wine shop i go to that orders wine for me that isn't for sale there, i wonder if pact passes, if local stores like the one i found that carries general will make "special orders"? i mean, if we can't buy it online or have it mailed here, i'd consider paying extra.

I only bought from a local store 1 time and never will again.

I knew they would only have general snus, but when I bought it, it was super super moist, like they added 3 table spoons of water to the can, and then the snuses were frozen because the temp was too cold.


Could not use it for almost 2 days, had to let it sit with the top off to let it air out. Terrible experience.

This is actually great news for me. I actually live in Piedmont and am up in that area ALL the time. If I ever forget to order or something (or SM starts having production issues, ahem) I have a backup.

There is a shop a couple of miles from me; they have saved my ass more than once.......it's still painful to the wallet if I have to go that route, though. :wink:

If you've got one locally, you might want to check with them and see (if they don't already stock Swedish Match) if they will be doing so in the future.

Went in there today, and the guy said he is not so sure that they will get it after all. :evil: :evil: :evil: That sucks because I liked the idea of being able to get a can or two of General wintergreen without having to order a large quanity.

I am going to check with the owner during the work week to see if he has heard anything definite.

Went to General's website to check the where to buy tab and another cigar store in my hometown called Boda Pipe came up so thought was awesome. It is not as convenient as the one I talked about in my initial post in this thread but still good news.

I called the one that had first told me he was getting it to see if he had heard anything and he said no. I told him about his competitor getting snus and said he might want to light a fire under his reps tail because I had rather buy from him. He told me he appreciated the info and would do that.

Either way, it looks like I will at least get to buy General locally.

The other cigar store I mentioned finally started selling General and they only had the main flavors but no Catch flavors.

I bought a can of the loose but haven't had a chance to try it. It was $4.23 tax included and had a 12/1/09 date which wasn't too bad. check I hope enough have been sold so they will have rotated stock.

The only problem is the shop is on a side of my hometown that I go too much so it is not very convenient but I hope the one at the mall will hurry and get theirs. Still at least I can buy it locally and I didn't think to ask him if he could cut me a deal if I bought a high quanity.

PMD, no store anywhere in US is selling anything but the limited General that all who do are.
