I feel sorry for Northerner

They're having troubles again with their site.

Something to do with the continued problems with the bonus point system - which is awesome if you ask me.

Now when you try to add something to the cart, it tells you that you don't have enough bonus points.

I'm hoping the bonus points have increased their business because it seems like it's a big pain in the ass for them.

Oh yeah, and my bonus point balance is -1760.

I had 348240 points and ordered the ICE PALACE. Can't believe I got away with getting it with having 1,760 too few.

Yeah i love the points system too, they've earned a loyal customer with it.
You can never rely on the bonus points page though, that hasn't worked since they put it there a few months ago, from what I understand.
It has to be a big hassle. I think a lot of it has to do with the reviews system. They give out 5 bonus points a piece for thorough reviews, and to judge for thoroughness, they have to read ALL of them. I have no idea how many reviews are posted every week, but on top of running a fairly large web-based business with 11 people, it really must suck having to deal with that on top of everything else.
It seems to me like they should hire on some new people...hint hint....you reading this Frank?

yeah the bonus points is the main reason im doing northerner. ill have to try getsnus sometime, once ive attained the ettan hat.

Have you looked at the bonus product page......there is now less choice of stuff you can get....and they have put up the number of points on getting snus......it use to be around 60 points a can to get decent brand of snus...now they have only about four different ones....at around 149 points a can!!!!!....not good

Let's hope they are working on the bonus point section again because it would be a bad move to increase the number of points required for a free can and to reduce the selection IMO.....

Northerner has never worked properly. I click on their quick links and they don't work either! Who do they hire for their site maintenence damn!

Wow...I just went back and looked at the bonus page...two pages worth of just about nothing, and everything costs more. Man that's depressing. I hope it doesn't stick but I don't have a good feeling about it.
I'll still order some of my snus from them since they have a nice selection, but if this is any indication their regular prices are probably gonna go up too.

Northerner's bonus system is just that a bonus. You guys are griping about not getting good enough freebies. Still better freebies than buysnus. Especially for those of us who don't buy rolls. Snuscentral offers no bonus stuff at all. I have found no real bonus stuff at the snuff shops either, NicotineRush gives out 3-4 gram samples, some of the others have killer deals now and then. Getsnus will stop the mystery can promotion eventually.

If the free stuff is a deal breaker then you will be hard pressed to find a snus shop.

If the Tshirts were only 50 points they're still worthless to me if the only sizes they come in are small and medium.

If you were using bonus points to buy snus that you do use, it does make a difference. If the changes stay I will have to purchase snus that up till now I got as a bonus. So although it's a "bonus" it still means I pay more for my snus. :cry:

It was never meant to be a gripe about the free stuff not being good enough, but simply pointing out that the new system is inferior to the previous one - which I thought was very good.

I dislike all V2 products and I don't care for any of the other bonus products so basically Northerner has taken away any differentiating factor they might have had for me personally.

I don't order rolls either and appreciated the fact that my regular smaller orders were rewarded in some way.

Now if I buy from Buysnus or Northerner I get no reward for my loyalty either way and who I stick with in the long run will be determined by customer service.

Perhaps that is the way it should be...

Ps: The freebies were never the deal breaker for me. I've always split my orders 50:50 between Northerner and Buysnus - Northerner gets the portion orders and Buysnus the lös.

I opted for Northerner the last month or so due to continued strike action by the Royal Mail which made deliveries patchy and I tended to use UPS despite it being more expensive.

I'm glad to see the amount of points for shirts dropped, but the points for snus greatly increased. Used to be 60 points for General Dry Mini Mint. Now it's 149!!!

There's a lot more than just bonus points changing.

3 weeks ago I bought some LD lössnus for $1.98 a can/the price now is $2.35 a can

LD portions was $2.09/now $2.47
Retro portions a roll was $21.20/ now $23.70

Better double check prices before ordering, Buysnus is looking better on some items.

No business gives away stuff for free. There is no such thing as free stuff.
Northerner has probably marked up its prices (only slightly) in order to cover the cost of the 'free' snus.

Presently they might (now it's only a suggestion) be reviewing their business in the present economic climate and in order to keep their present prices, might have to get rid of a lot of free stuff.

I don't know that this is the case - I'm only surmising.

It might just be that they're simply having a website crisis.
