Just got my order from northerner's USA warehouse. No taxes or duties yet again! Customs must be slacking, hehe. Eitherway, ordering to BC takes the same amount of time whether its from Sweden or the USA it seems. Could be a couple days less to eastern Canada, but it'll still sit in customs for 10 days, for them to look at it, think its candy or something, and pass it through.

I got 2 orders of General through from Northerner's US warehouse duty-free too. Note that an order is 5 cans, as suggested by Northerner.

Good seeing you again darkwing. I was thinking about you the other day, and thinking you hadn't been on much recently :^)

How long did it take to ship it? Either way, it shouldn't be dangerous to ship above 5 (portion) cans, given its under 200 grams of tobacco (else its considered wholesale).

I have always ordered only 5 cans at a time, as recommended by Northerner. That way, I guess the package is small enough to slip through the screening most of the time. When shipping from Sweden I'd say about a quarter of those shipments still get nabbed and I have to go to the post office and pay duties, which have ranged from $8 to $80. The rest just show up unmolested in my mailbox at home. Shipping from the US warehouse was not any faster than from Sweden, but it got through free. The US warehouse shipment contained 5 cans of General portions labelled in English, not Swedish, something which made me feel disappointed, for some reason. I sometimes buy DuMaurier snus here too, it is miniportion sweetened stale rubbish, but helps keep my stash healthy and reduces the amount of online ordering and worry about customs duties. Not sure if DuMaurier is available outside the original test markets of Edmonton and Ottawa, but her in Ottawa I see the little white snus fridges at lots of convenience and tobacco stores, including on the university campus where I work. It is even advertised in the local artsy magazine.

Last 5 orders slipped threw customs. The last order that was held, they tried to charge me $45 after i received my snus LOL. Needless to say the bastards didn't get my money.

Geeze, I guess it puts things in perspective, right Americans? The US bitches about their tobacco taxes, but it seems like Canada has a heads-up on us, as well as feet up, hands up, and apparently their ass up. I'd rather pay for health care than deal with the absurd taxes.

how bout sending the money to someone in the us near the border to place your order then stashing your snus inside of some object( pringles cans, hollowed out candles w/ wax seal on the bottom, etc.) then shipping it to you that way..or do snus exchanges that way...just a thought

Unfortunately too many folks In America think that way. If you consider the true cost of our taxes and healthcare in the US; Canadians are far better off dollar-wise. At least it seems that way... imo.

Let me tell you how it will be:
Here's one for you, nineteen for me.
And you still will die in misery.
                      'Cause I'm the HMO man.
                      Taxman got nothin' on me.

                      Sincerest apologies to George Harrison

Considering that I haven't been slapped with duties for my last 5+ orders, out of like 7 total, I don't think its neccesary.

Anyway, my last order just arrived. Got shipped in two parcels, one on the 6th and another on the 7th. The one on the 7th arrived three days earlier surprisingly enough. No duty on either. 02 rocks btw!

I still don't like the fact that they are not as fresh when they arrive after being 2 weeks in transport. I believe the only way to do this is to contact customs, saying you'll handle the duties etc. yourself as an importer, and not paying duties on that is criminal. So not really worth it.

I suspect an envelope but why don't you send them an email and ask them?

All of my 5 can orders from Northener have come in an envelope + the customs declaration on the envelope to me have been labelled either "Swedish Snus" or simply "Snus".
