    Snus Store in San Francisco!

I was thrilled to learn today that there is a tobacco shop right down the street from my dentist in San Francisco that's selling Snus. I've been running low on my latest shipment from BuySnus, so I figured I'd go pick up a couple of cans right after my appointment.

I walked in and immediately saw to my right a small, "self service" refrigerator from General that contained original portions, Wintergreen portions, and Catch Dry Peppermint portions. The price was a little steep ($5.95) but no worse than what I'm used to paying from my pre-Snus days when I was dipping Skoal, so I figured "what the heck, I need some anyway".

I grabbed a can of Original and a can of Wintergreen and walked away quite happy knowing that there's a place nearby for those times when I'm running low. I was even happier when I found that it was quite fresh... not nearing it's expiration.

I'll keep ordering online for my main supply, but I think I'll make a point of buying from them on an occasional basis to help ensure they're successful in there effort to sell it.

The most interesting observation for me was that everything on the packaging is in English with the American "moist snuff" warnings instead of the Swedish warnings. Certainly seems like Swedish Match is making a real effort to start penetrating the US Market. I wish them all the success in the world

Which one? I am now in San Jose and the Mission Pipe Shop on The Alameda also has a small cooler with the same offerings, I think it is what SM is importing into the US.

I was at the California Tobacco Center in SF at the corner of California & Polk.

This post saved my butt today. I ran out of snus on Monday and my shipment is three days late. I timed it so I'd just make it through my last batch until arrival of my shipment, but thanks to U.S. Customs I probably won't be getting my stuff until next Monday. If I run out, I usually go to the Tinder Box in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) - right down the street from my house, but I live in San Francisco on weekdays for the next month and that is at least a two hour drive this time of day. My girlfriend tried to get me to smoke instead, but it just tasted awful and I stunk for hours. I don't think I'll ever smoke again now that I'm into snus - even after smoking for 12 years.

Same Swedish Match products sold in Florida -- but ours are $3.75 a tin. I can't believe your San Francisco price. Must be state taxes.

The snus at the tobacco shop at California and Polk was only $5.45 a can, but the price for any snus at Tinderbox is $5.95. I wish my BuySnus order would just get here.

At $3.98 a gallon for lowest octane gasoline at the cheap station by my house I probably totaled at least $15 for two cans of snus.

              Sometimes I miss Florida.

sfcowboy, curious as to how you like the wintergreen? I didn't like it, it was way overpowering to me, but I never liked American dip, it is obviously targeted at a US market. I wounder how it will play with folks that used Skoal, even though I don't like it I think it may be a pretty good idea.

And thank you for reminding me why I left California 13 years ago. I went to Berkeley. My soon to be ex-wife transfered from North Carolina State to Berkeley, how I met her. 5 years later, 6 months before we got married, I convinced her to return to Raleigh. I just knew that we could never really get a head living in California. Even though wages are less here, at the end of the week, I still have far more disposable cash.

I miss it sometimes, but my family is still scattered up and down the west coast, so I come back every couple of years.

But your price for snus, your price for gas, your price for EVERYTHING is just too much. But I still tear up every time I hear Journey's Lights. Every time. The City by the Bay will always be in my blood.
