I was thrilled to learn today that there is a tobacco shop right down the street from my dentist in San Francisco that's selling Snus. I've been running low on my latest shipment from BuySnus, so I figured I'd go pick up a couple of cans right after my appointment.
I walked in and immediately saw to my right a small, "self service" refrigerator from General that contained original portions, Wintergreen portions, and Catch Dry Peppermint portions. The price was a little steep ($5.95) but no worse than what I'm used to paying from my pre-Snus days when I was dipping Skoal, so I figured "what the heck, I need some anyway".
I grabbed a can of Original and a can of Wintergreen and walked away quite happy knowing that there's a place nearby for those times when I'm running low. I was even happier when I found that it was quite fresh... not nearing it's expiration.
I'll keep ordering online for my main supply, but I think I'll make a point of buying from them on an occasional basis to help ensure they're successful in there effort to sell it.
The most interesting observation for me was that everything on the packaging is in English with the American "moist snuff" warnings instead of the Swedish warnings. Certainly seems like Swedish Match is making a real effort to start penetrating the US Market. I wish them all the success in the world
