So I just tried placing an order with Northerner and my payment was refused. I've read some other threads regarding the same issue with cards being declined by banks and such. However, I've ordered before with a Visa gift card, so I purchased another one to complete my order since my bank issued credit card apparently won't work. Only now, this card has been refused as well. This is getting quite annoying. Anyone find a good way around this issue? How do most of you pay for your transactions?

I bank with Wachovia and have a Visa card from them, no issues. Have you thought about Paypal? I have a Business Premier Account (its free!) and it gave me a Paypal Mastercard to access my funds with them.

Many CC banks only allow shipping to 'approved' addresses, usually your billing address. This is part of their anti-theft program.

You should call the 800 number on your card and have them add an alternate shipping address. That happened to me a while back and now I have 2 alternate shipping addresses, which pretty much has solved the problem.

I have had my card declined a few times when ordering electronic equipment from china. I kept having to call my bank's CS line to verify that it was me placing the order, apparently they had marked the transactions as fraud, mainly because I was ordering overseas. Just call your bank and explain it to them, they should be able to help.

On certain gift cards, you have to register the card online before using it for online purchases, go to the website of the gift card or read the terms and conditions of the card.

Yeah I registered it online to validate it for online purchases. I guess I'll just have to start looking for that one specific bank that offers the gift cards that work around here. Paypal is a good idea, but I thought they restricted tobacco purchases.

I had to see it and it appears that they don't ban the purchase, just when you violate any applicable laws governing the sale.

Order from buysnus with your credit card. It won't get declined and you won't have to pay state tax.

I had a problem with my mastercard today on snuscentral. My bank said there is a major blackout with the Secure Code verification that started yesterday. Ticketmaster is having the most issues but othersites are also having a lot of problems. I think this is just with Master card but not sure. This issue is not with the banks but mastercard itself. They are working on it but not sure when it will be fixed. I just hope snuscentral doesn't hike the rates before my expensive order becomes really expensive.

same thing with me. I tried to put in a huge order from snus central and my mastercard which previously worked 3 times was denied. I'll try again in a few days and see if it works?? jer

Check your mastercard activity online to see if that order is pending. My was pending for a couple days and today I got email from snuscentral that its been processed and shipped. Even though I never made it past the secure code verification page.

thanks for the tip snuff. I checked my account and it showed my order was denied. MasterCard ended up calling me back and after a few minutes everything was fixed. Put in my order this morning to take advantage of the general Los special. last time I checked my 3 rolls plus some other goodies are on their way!! jer

I just had an ordeal ordering from getsnus. Debit card would not work, went out bought prepaid visa that did not work, called bank and had to wait awhile but they removed the block from my card. Apparently Sweden, France, Hong Kong, and especially Great Britain are high risk for fraud. If you do go the prepaid visa route make sure it can be used worldwide as mine was restricted to the USA.
