    Price?

Hey i was checking out the vendors for Snus for the US, and it seems its more expensive than smoking cigs. I usually spend about $26 bucks per week on cigs, is snus gonna be more or less than that? i know its based on how much i use etc, but i just want average. Thx in advance. [/b]

    Welcome to Snuson :^)

I'd expect to go through 3 tins per week max. There's people that go through a tin per day(mostly Scandinavians), but I wouldn't consider that the typical non-Scandinavian usage pattern. I use about 2 tins per week, so it's much cheaper than smoking for me.

        24. But if you get loose, it has more in it, though it's loose and maybe may not appeal to some, as you have to get a portion tool, or mold the snus by hand. Portions are more discreet and clean, easy to take to work or go out.

Most portions run between $3 and $4 a tin, less if you buy in larger quantities. So unless you're using mega amounts of snus, you should find it to be a far more economically sensible choice.

I use a can in 2-3 days. Let's say 2 days at $3.00 per tin = $1.50 per day. Cigs are about $6 here, and I smoked 1.5 packs per day. So that's $9 per day. Snus is much cheaper than cigs were for me...

                Welcome to Snuson Sage.

                Nice name

I was a two pack a day smoker. I too wondered how much snus I would use. But I use at most 14 portions a day. So two cans last me like 3 days, being conservative. So even 5 cans a week, which is more than I use, vs 14 packs of cigarettes a week. Snus lowered my tobacco budget by 2/3.

Been using for almost 2 12 years now. still the same.

lol thx bro. Yea i was up too 2 packs per day easy. i could smoke a pack in a 10 or even 7hr shift and that was murdering my pockets. so, I'm happy to hear that it will put a little weight back in my wallet. Funny thing when i bought it (sheer curiosity) i also bought a pack of smokes, pop i in on the way home and forgot all about my cigs till about 10mins ago. Amazing! i usually have a cig as soon as i get in the door, but with snus ( oooh so good) the thought neva surfaced time just flew on by. i smoked a cig a few minutes ago out of habit (was on da phone with sons mom), smoked half, and ran for the fridge for my snus. Dude, forgot how bad cigs actually taste...lol

And the Swedish will work WAY better!!

I never intended to quit. Got snus just to use at work so I wouldn't have to leave my sales floor so much. But then funny thing happened, i started using snus more, smoking less, and about a month or so later, just forgot to bu any more cigarettes.

I still smoke one here and there, maybe like 2 a month??? But only went I WANT to now, not NEED to.

                    OK, advice on gong Swedish.....

Give it time. Your first week, the salt will overwhelm your body and snus will taste a bit strange, coming from Camel. Just give it time. Body takes between 5 - 10 days just to begin getting acclimated to the salt. After a week or so, you will really begin to taste how snus really should taste. Not until then so be patient that first week.

Another tip....give yourself some time to adjust to Swedish snus before ordering many tins of one particular flavor. What you think tastes great in the beginning may not taste so great after you've become acclimatized. Your taste for snus may change a great deal over the first few weeks and you don't want to find yourself sitting on 20 tins of something you're not so fond of any longer.

And when starting, don't get too excited with putting that black gold in your lip, or you will run out of snus.

My "strategy" has been making orders of just under 10 cans, of various types. If one stands out, I'll keep note of that, and get a roll of it eventually. There is still so much I haven't tried. I'm trying not to make an order every week, but I have the last two... and I might before this week ends... oh well.

My strategy to try some out just now was to buy a variety roll of lös from buysnus. I got 11 different types (they threw in a free can), some of which I loved, some of which I hate. Now I know what I want to buy in the future. Probably going to get a roll of skruf stark, Roda Lacket, and Götesborg Rapé in the near future, and then maybe another variety roll.

I was a 3 pack a day smoker. (Malboro Reds). Now I use 6-8 portions a day so 1 can of snus lasts me 3-4 days.
