  • Yeah - The store wouldn't be allowed to sell it though.. Odd :-/
    Go complain!
Also - you might recieve "expired" cans from other snusers, but these have usually been vacuumpacked and frozen so they are quite okay... But the store one is probably bad.

    • That really suck Benopth. Did you just buy the one can? I really wouldn't take it back if that is the case. That seems like a store that does not sell much snus. If you did buy multiple cans, I would just ask for a refund because technically they really shouldn't sell anything expired

If you just bought the one can, it is probably fine. I've used expired portions and they were fine. Sometimes they dry up a bit, but I've yet to have a can of snus wind being moldy or anything. I would look for other stores by you and make sure you look at the dates whenever buying snus. If there isn't any other store that carries snus, just order some. There are plenty of e-stores that sell beginner boxes or things like that.

      • Hello everybody! I am a new snuser and I have a quick question.

Is this snus expired or not? I am asking because the employee of the store claimed that this date is the production date and not the expiration date.

        • Yeah that's good til Dec. 4th. If it was in the other format it would say BAST FORE instead of BEST BEFORE. Also, that's definitely not the production date. How could it be best before the day it was made?

          • Thank you LordJ. I was confused because I am used to DDMMYYYY format.

            • best before date

              Hello!

I am new on this forum. I am from europe. Two weeks ago i recived GENERAL loose snus from northerner, an i do not know if is exipred or not. The date is 12 03 12. Package is american, so i think that the date is in american format: mounth, day, year. Can anyone comfirm this?

              Thanks!

              • If the package text is in English, meaning the the verbiage on the bottom is not In Swedish, then you are correct, Month/Day/Year. If its in Swedish then it's in the European format and would indeed be past the Best By date. In the English format, you've got a couple weeks yet but know that just because the snus is near its Best By date, doesn't mean it goes bad after that date like say, Milk would.

I buy in bulk and use snus a few months after the best by date all the time and really don't pay attention unless I receive snus that I purchased that's beyond the date. Then I send the shop an email to let them know and they will usually take care of it. :-)

as long as you store it in a cool place, like the fridge, it'll be fine

Hope this helps and welcome to the forums!

                  + 1

Depending on how many cans we are talking.........Freeze the unopened ones (portions will keep forever frozen....I still have some pre-pact that taste as good as the first can I opened)........Los....I say about a year and a half in the freezer and there is a slight mellowing of the flavor.......but nothing worth even mentioning

                  Anyway welcome

                  • I usually order 6 month supply and keep in the bottom drawer of the fridge where it is on average the coldest. Never have a problem as long as I get the freshest snus possible in the most time efficient manner, in other words from snuscentral and not Northerner........
