Whoopi seems the most critical of him. Everyone else acts like he's Justin Beiber.

I'm 20 years old, so I would have to get one of my friends to sign it for me? That is ridiculous, since the age to purchase tobacco is 18. I could see if there was a 21+ policy for shipping alcohol, but the age for signing an order consisting of tobacco should be 18. Our society continues to baby every person that is not 21 years old, even though we're old enough to serve our country.

If you are being told this, it's BS. You can leave driver instructions to have a neighbor sign & accept your package. The note must have your address and signature and the neighbor has to be 21.

This forum is odd to me. Here there is a thread a mile long about the pains you have to deal with when ordering from a certain company, and yet everyone keeps ordering from that company.

              The odd thing is

              1) you are not saving any money (unless you are only placing a tiny order... in which case save up til you can actually make the shipping costs less per can you iddjets)

and 2) You cannot change the shipping address from the verification address manually on the site (so you probably wont be home, plus UPS home delivery is in the afternoon, so it stays on the hot truck all day)

and 3) they are probably out of what you want, but will still sell it to you anyway. (Yeah thats how ya do it... money for nothing)

Many of you sound intelligent, but so help me I cannot understand why you people keep ordering from this lousy company. Maybe this is just a forum of people who love to sit around and bitch when they get screwed so they make double sure they get screwed so they can bitch?

Fool me once shame on you... fool me twice...

What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results?

They told me you can only use the "leave with my neighbor" form for a regular shipment, but not for the 21 and older one. I don't know why that is because they seem to be okay with me having it dropped off at my mother in law's restaurant and having her sign. Don't ask me, these peopl are idiots around here.

In other news, if I can get home in time I apparently can get them to make a 4th delivery attempt tomorrow at my mother in law's restaurant where she can then sign for it. So there is hope still yet! But what would an individual do if he didn't know someone who ran a restaurant during the day?

I completely hear you and would say the same. For me I got a good deal on it (better than buysnus etc) so it's worth it. Also, I had the same problem with the address. They would only ship and bill to the address on my driverse license (which is ****ing retarded). I simply sent an email to someone at Northerner telling them what I wanted and where to ship/bill to and it was sent out the next morning. Ive had an absolutely shit couple of months dealing with their insane out of control nonesense business practices and decisions, but they seem to be back on track now so I will continue buying from whoever has it cheapest. In this instance Northerner had it cheapest so they got my money.

Wait, isn't that our motto? I swore I saw a banner add saying exactly that when i clicked it.

Technically speaking I'm not sure that the PACT restrictions are to be treated this same way by law I do recall that the actual purchaser of the given tobacco product had to be of age of course and be present to sign in order to lawfully have it shipped & received. Which is yet another BShitter about this whole ordeal.

I was told by FedEx I could leave my signature and a copy of my ID on the front door.

Perhaps UPS has the same policy?

They made it very clear, and I called 3 times just to see if maybe it was an unknowledgeable customer service rep or something. The message was: Be there to recieve the package or gtfo. After 3 tries it goes back to the sender. No you can't pick it up after work, no we don't stay open past 5, no you cant leave a note or a photocopy of a signature, and no we can't ship it to a UPS store near you. Be there to sign or bust.

Which makes sense, I mean if I were a minor I would just grab my da'd ID and make a copy of it and post it on the door. Or I would have it sent to a UPS store where likely the employee is over 21. This is probably why it is this way.

Odly though, if I pay an additional fee, they will deliver it to my mother in law's restaurant. I don't see how this is different than giving it to my neighbor but apparently delivering it to a different adress where someone is over 21 is a go as long as you pay an additional fee.

So, for those of you under 21, pay the $6 fee and you can get your package. <--- Congress, you just spent all that time, effort, money, and massive loss of business for the already failing USPS just so some kid can get around your law and order tobacco by paying a $6 fee.
