UPS 21+ policy is the gayest thing since fishnet t-shirts

This 21+ signing policy is absolute crap.

So after 2 months I finally managed to get an order of thunder shipped to me from Northerner. It got here 2 days ago, but UPS guy keeps coming to my house at like 2pm when no one is home. They close at 5 and I have to pick it up before then. They make 3 attempts then send it back.

Well today is my third day, and it looks like I am out of luck. They cannot arrange to have it delivered later. I live across the street from a UPS place, so I asked if they could ship it there, but they said that once ti gets off the truck they store it in the next town over, and there is no way they could leave it at the branch across the street from me.

So they pretty much said, if your not home at 2pm today than we're sending it back to Northerner. I yelled at them because NO ONE gets home by 5pm in the city, the traffic here is crazy. They have literally made it physically impossible for me to recieve a package from UPS ever again. This is ****ing crap.

I will never get my damn frosted.

It does suck. And the US sucks, cuz they need to have ONE age of legal adult. 18. Plus yeah, it's dumb, I have a UPS package due today, but I don't get home till 5:30, UPS can deliver up to 7pm, so, we'll see, plus the wife is staying home Friday.

But really, this UPS, and I guess they need to see an ID. Signing the paper and leaving it on the porch works OK, but now I guess they have to see an ID, so someone has to physically accept it.

I still can't believe I spent $60 for bascially 1 roll. I'll probably quit after these.

I would change the ship to address, and have it come to your work. Just a suggestion since UPS wants to be pricks about the matter.

I thought about changing the address, but it said age was verified for this address, and I didn't wanna mess that up, if I changed it, so I went with it, and then immediately send them a contact message to send it to my work, which I guess they never read.

This is crap. The problem with changing it to my work address is that I only work till 4, so if they come at 5 i'm out of luck because the office is closed down. But at home, I don't get home till 6 so then it's too late over there. I'm just screwed. This new policy is complete crap. I can't even have my neighbor welfare momma sign for it (since she's home all day). This is so stupid.

You say there's a UPS Store close by?

Use their address and you can pick it up anytime!!

Why can't your neighbor sign for it? Is she under 21?

The only place I had a problem changing my shipping was northerner. Which they did after a few emails, but seemingly begrudgingly. I get everything UPS shipped to my work address. I am rarely if ever home during daylight.

On orders from snuscentral and buysnus.com I can easily adjust the shipping address to my work. I get my packages fast, and if you order a decent amount the shipping isn't really all that bad.

For instance I just ordered 3 rolls of N&J Strong White from buysnus.com, and total with shipping was 90 dollars. So 3 bucks a can. First its on sale, second there was a 10% discount code (facebook1000), third I changed the currency to Euros and saved another 10 bucks (check with your card first to find out what they charge for exchange, mine is 1.00), lastly they aren't collecting the state tax (which I will most certainly send to KY ). Shipping was 18 dollars, so 6 bucks a roll. I ordered yesterday, its already on the way and will be here on Monday.

In other words if you do your homework you can save some cash, and get decent service.

As far as I am concerned northerner can kiss my ass forever. I am going on 6 weeks for some Thunder Berry now. I give up... they can keep it for all I care.... chalk it up to lesson learned.

Sorry, not a UPS store but a UPS branch, like the shipping branch. But for some reason they don't use this branch across from my house as the hub for my area. They use one about 40 minutes away, which is retarded. So I have to somehow drive over there by 5, which ain't going to happen. This is just way too much trouble really. If I have to start taking days off work to pick up my snus i'm just going to quit.

Tom, I don't know but they won't let my neighbor sign for it and just leave it with them. They said it is not an option. Don't ask me wtf these people are on, I have no idea how they can run a shipping business but not arrange for someone to pick up a package after 5 (you know, for those of us who work during the day).

**** UPS and the pact act. If UPS is still going to deliver tobacco then why did they decide that you have to be 21 year olds to order it?

Well, this is the government and big US tobacco's plan, to keep real snus out, and make it such a hassle, and remain an obscure item, so it doesn't interfere with their sales of smokes, and faux snus.

Personally, I think Northerner is taking things to extremes right now.
Eventually things should iron out but in the meantime it's total BS!

                          • OK, they want/need to verify that you're over 21 when you place an order.
                            Check.
                          • UPS must get a signature from someone over 21 at delivery.
                            Check.

                            These are 2 separate issues.

Verification of age for a delivery address? Never heard of such
a thing (and I've been around longer than I care to admit).
How do you go about verifying the age of an address?
"Oh, that address is only 15 years old! NO GO!!"??

Gimme a break!! Methinks someone is being overly cautious in
(mis)interpreting the regs; but then, better to be safe than sorry!?!

Unfortunately too many people are looking elsewhere and these
individuals may never return to the fold.

                            Just my .
