I was hoping someone could provide insight on any differences, I've not had the pleasure. I'd initially planned on grabbing a roll of some gotlands, which I probably still will, but just noticed getsnus' transformation to the northerner; which is fine as it'll allow me to finally check these out. I'm planning on getting a roll of one and a can of the other, which should I get a roll of?

There kind of similar, but different. There's really nothing to compare them to, they're unique in the snus world. Gellivare is rich, and somewhat chocolaty, and Landströms is peaty, and earthy. Gellivare is a bit finer than Landströms, but both are pretty fine, and a huge challenge to handbake. I like Landströms better of the 2, but Gellivare's a favorite also. You may want to buy a tin of each to see what you think. If you then really like one, the other, or both, you can stock up. As it's looking now, they won't be available in the USA after PACT. Northerner is the only online store I know of that carries it, and they're following the rules by the book.

I'd do a half roll each. If you don't like one you can always put it on the exchange. But chances are you will like bothWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Glad you started this thread eyephantom. I've been thoroughly enjoying my 1 can of Gellivare, so I ordered a bunch more. I haven't tried Landströms yet but I'm excited to try my 1 can of it. For Gellivare, the notion of chocolaty, rich snus pretty much turns me off, but it's is really outstanding, and I don't get chocolate in it personally. It's definitely a rich flavor, and nicely salty too, and no flavor distractions. I find myself eating little stray bits of it instead of spitting them on the carpet. You will like it, and I think dog's suggestion is a great one given the timeline on losing access to this stuff.

Thought I'd throw in my two cents, along with some close up pics of the grinds so you could see what they look like.
An excerpt from my review on Gellivare & Landstrom's
Both of the flavors of this one are rather similar, but with subtle notes that seperate the two. The thing I like about both of these is that they both have a natural flavor. Much like with Grov, or Ettan, but these are two of the most pure, natural snuses I've ever had. The flavors are simple, but pronounced. I think the beauty of Gellivare and Landstrom's are their complex simplicity - to use an oxymoron, because I can't think of too many words to describe these. Landstrom's has a very natural, earthy flavor. It's simple, but very pure, slightly sweet - but not overbearing or strong. It's truly a great flavor, one of the most unique snus flavors I've ever had. The tobacco is the key element, and it's flavor is front and center in a natural, pure way. A very mild salt balance is in the background, and exists with a very smooth undertone, mixing in with the tobacco and enhancing it's flavor.
The Gellivare snus is much like the Landstrom's, with a few small differences. The flavor is more rich, and more bold. The tobacco seems to be on a deeper level. The sweet flavor is still there, but it seems to have hints of chocolate and nut - perhaps hazelnut. Not sure if this is in the recipe or not, but these are the tastes I pick up. It could be just the way the flavors blend that it tastes much like that, but that's what I gather from a full can of Landstrom's and a few pris' of my second. The rich tobacco flavor has a sweet undertone with it, and a very light salt balance. And the little hints I pick up of nut and chocolate mix quite well with the rich tobacco flavor.
Those are my thoughts on both. That being said - I'm more of a portions guy, but lately with these two and Bla, I've been getting more into los. I have ordered many rolls of each, because that's how good they are.

they have a cool thing, they sell "stats" boxes with enough snus in it for 40 cans! you can then put in witch flavour you want - in old days i would have such a box delivered throgh an old svedish lumberjack i worked with - its cool to pull out such a big "can" when the guys ar over, for some football and such!

Okay, am I the only one in the world who picks up allspice in the Gellivare. I swear it reminds me of pumpkin pie. Whatever it is I'll be getting another roll before the PACT act kicks in. Actually afraid to try Landstrom's as if I like it, and I probably would.... that would be a little to much for me in the post-PACT world.
How about SM buying them out

Hmmm... I may have to add a can of each to my next order. All your descriptions have got my mouth watering.
[Apologies for the off-topic remark] deadohsky, is that William Burroughs in your avatar? Sure looks like him, but it's too small for me to be sure. I'm a big fan.
