I have always loved Landstroms and then it was gone

When I saw northerner had it again I immediately ordered Gellivare and Landstroms.

Not only to support a small company but because its simply , in my opinion, the best snus made out there..... plus I love the old world cans

I find though that Gellivare has a more muted flavor and Landstroms shares an earthy flavor profile somewhat like that of Gotlands but not a spronounced, its quite nice.

Certainly would be, good eye PipenSnus. One of my favorite authors.

The grind looks completely different from any snus I have seen. They both look like Copenhagen Snuff. Which one is easier to bake?

Probably the Gellivare. But it's like asking which car's easier to push; the 58 military transport, or the 84 F150 :^D

I can't decide which one is better. I think I prefer Landstroms though I have a pris of Gellivare in right now. I use a tool so it goes in nice and clean but removing it is a whole other matter. It's like taking a pris of coffee grounds out of your mouth. Messy. I also ticked up the moisture in mine as I think it makes it a little richer.

The snus is great. It's a very natural, straight tobacco taste. The Gellivare has a little better burn IMO but I prefer the brighter flavor of Landstroms.

I ended up going with a roll of landstroms and a can of gellivare. I'm confident I'll like both based on your descriptions, but the earthyness of Landstroms is a bit more appealing and perhaps distinct. I'll have sufficient time before pact after receiving my order to assess, order more if necessary. Also threw in a can of Bla, just so I can say i've tried it all. Very unusual order for me, I've used nothing outside of gotlands' los, ettan, roda los, and GES this entire year.

Also, while on the subject of pact. It goes into effect June 20th, correct? So that if it takes a week to receive an order and taxes are added as it's received, final orders should be placed no later than say June 13th? Placing an order on June 19th, will allow you to obtain non pact compliant brands, gellivare for ex, but you'll incur taxes on arrival and will have to sign for it. Is my understanding correct?

I'm not sure how that's gonna work. I'd tend to think that anything in the mail system will get through as usual, but it's hard to say.

received my order today and am working on my second pris of landstroms. while perhaps a bit premature, this snus makes everything else taste anywhere from sub-par to complete bullshit. I'm a bit annoyed I haven't tried it sooner, and am certainly looking forward to the gellivare. All the descriptions are pretty much accurate, it has a very natural and organic taste and the tobacco used is exceptional. I imagine I will be purchasing massive quantities in the near future (unfortunately), and implore everyone to get on the bandwagon before it's too late. Speaking of pact, I find the tins yield greater storage abilities than cans, for those with space constraints. Also, as has been said, I certainly can't imagine hand baking this. I've just been tightly pinching and forming within my mouth, works well.

I'm enjoying the Gellivare much more than the Landströms. But then, I'm noticing that overall, I prefer bolder flavored snuses. Landströms is just a little too mild. I can tell it's a high-quality product, but I really don't get all that much flavor from it.

The difference between the two is kind of like the difference in snuffs between two SPs. They tend to have similar grinds, moisture levels and flavours, but there's that certain something that makes them slightly different from each other. I like Landströms better with coffee, Gellivare better with beer.

both taste the same to me. tasted good at first but now not so much.

prefer prima fint when it comes to delicate flavors

I got 2 cans of each with my last order (along with an icetool!). So far I've only tried the Landstroms, but I definitely get the earthy, fresh and peat references. I'm really liking it so far, reminds me a bit of good scotch.

Maybe my cans dried out a bit in shipping since the lids don't seem to fit very well, but I'm finding it hard to keep a pris from crumbling even with a good firm press with the icetool. Also understand now why people say the cans make a mess due to being filled so full.

That's just the way it is. It crumbles, but it'll stay in place nicely.

I must confess that my attraction to these Snus over rode my disgust with Getsnus, and I picked up a roll of each. Actually, true to form they so far have stiffed me on the Gellivare, so maybe I will get to compare them someday.

The Landströms is a very nice tobacco though, very tasty and lasts a long time. I have had no real problem with an Icetool, and I get a little grit in it too, but not too bad. This is what I expect an old school los to be like, well crafted and from choice tobacco. A little salty but a pleasure to chew on for an hour or so. A keeper and a refreshing change of pace. The earthy base taste is mild yet yields plenty of flavor. Thanks for posting this review, it was pleasant to try something new and different. Now for the rest of the shipment, Fredrik?

I like that. Looks like a giant Tupperware container of Gellivare. Which leads to my only complaint.

I can only comment on Gellivare. Awesome flavor and one of my favorites. But it is too dry, so I added some water and now it's perfect. The can sucks, doesn't seal well at all. I don't know if it's because they don't use enough water or if it dries quickly, because the can doesn't seal, but these are two areas I'd suggest they improve. Then they'd have the worlds best snus. The can sucks so bad, it got me thinking about how useless it is for long term storage and how I might be better off dumping all my cans in some zip lock bags, which had me thinking, what if they just sold it in bags as I've seen they do in Sweden? How many crappy cans that don't seal does one guy really need?
