I should have some in the mail today or tommorow, I'll share my thoughts on it once I've tried it.

I received mine earlier this week. I will post a review of it this evening or tomorrow morning first thing.

If we don't hear from you by then, we'll expect the worst.

So, even though Pact hasn't become enforced yet, if I order from getsnus right now, will I have to use UPS? I was considering a small order with this new Olde Viking.

I bet you can order up until midnight on the effective date of PACT and they will have to honor it. It makes no sense with unpredictable delivery times from many snus webstores (not an insult against any webstore, just saying we don't know for sure when our orders will arrive) for them to block deliveries. I think with proper proof of purchase prior to PACT they should honor it. But then again, it is our government, efficiency isn't our strongest attribute.

I mean, as of right now, does getsnus send their orders though usps? Or is it set up(right now) to go right to ups?

I'll definitely get round to it tomorrow. Too tired right now to write a decent review. It's been a very long week. I will say though that it is completely different from what I expected. Time for Highland Park and GES now.

I liked this snus. Not going to say it was amazing, but not bad. It is a gajane product so how is it not a real snus product? I wouldn't buy it very often because there are to many out there better, but it was not bad. Kinda like the cans though.

I'm considering buying some of this before the Pact hits. I haven't had it, but I think I'd like it.

                      What's the flavor profile?

Despite promises of an in-depth review these are more impressions as I am only half way through the can.

My first impression was that the Olde Viking is very similar to the traditional citrus based snus such as General / Granit albeit a more smoky version.

After a while the citrus faded away quite a bit and it started to remind me of something else but I just couldn't put my finger on it, and then it hit me - it reminds me of Retro White. Not exactly as there seems to be a bit of a floral character to the snus as well similar to Gustavus, but it definitely is the closest to Retro White that I've had in a while.

It is definitely not just a General rip off, which I had initially feared it would be, given the way that the the flavour profile changes. The portions are also comfortable and for an original portion manages to get a nice balance between being moist enough but not overly so.

However, personally I don't think that it will become a regular purchase for me mainly because of the fact that I have settled into using more pure tobacco flavoured snus such as Ettan/Grov/Gellivare and the Olde Viking doesn't fit into that category.

I wouldbe interested to hear what other people think of this snus.

Ps: Thanks to Adrian at Gajane for sending me a can.

I had just put a Retro Original Portion in my mouth when the mail lady knocked on the door asking for a signature. It was a package from Adrian and Freric @ GaJane with a sample can of Olde Viking Original.

I don't get the similarity to Retro that KarlB gets. I do get the smoke and I do get the floral. I would say it's closer to Gustavus than it is to Retro.
It's been a looong time since I've had Gustavus so I don't want people to jump to the conclusion it's like Gustavus.
Moisture level is moist without dripping. The portion material is nice and soft.
It does have a unique taste to it, definately not a Swedish Match clone.

It's only been 30 minutes I'll weigh in more as I work my way through the can.

Well, I had to go out to shop some this morning, and I guess I missed my trial can delivery, as I got a slip of paper in the mail box, so I'll sign the back of it, and tape it to the door, and hopefull I'll have mine Monday.
