It makes a nice evening/after dinner snus. Tasty and relaxing.

I did a little experiment last night and tore open the portion bag so I could try it loose. It was a pain to form it into a prilla at first, so I used a couple drops of water to wet it. I suspect this will be true of all portion bags though.

The flavor was much more pronounced and enjoyable that way. Something I will probably do again when the wife isn't around. She thinks getting the tobacco bits stuck in your teeth is gross. :P

There a very few snus tins that are sealed. Just Lucky Strike and I think Roots. I have never received a dried out tin of Gotlands but yea all the tins are about the same.
I don't mean hermetically sealed, as most tins of portion do come sealed around the sides by paper/plastic/lamination. I felt uncomfortable not having to peel it open and just remove the top. I like the tamper evident kind of thing. What if some yahoo in customs just helped himself to my snus? Or did something nasty to it?

Gotlands is the first portion snus tin that I've felt weird about opening.

Didn't think about that... Now you've got me paranoid...

Maybe we can pester Gotlandssnus about putting tamper proof tape on the lid or somesuch? There are a lot of weirdo's out there that would do stuff like that to your snus just to be evil. I remember when I was younger hearing news reports of someone using a needle to inject blister packs of cold medicine with poison in a drug store. Their motivation on that was to drive stock prices down so they could buy it cheap though.

I see what you are saying. I guess you could order it in rolls, then it would be sealed in platic wrap.

Apart from the missing sealing, which I find more practical than alarming, the cans seem to be pretty air-tight. I use empty Gotlandsnus-cans to carry my day's ration of snus with me.

If anybody wants to poison many people, there are easier ways than to manipulate snus-cans and if anybody really chooses snus-cans for that purpose, there are ways to manipulate the content without breaking a seal.

But well, I once got a can of Offroad Portions, where the whole sealing (the plastic-tape that is wrapped around the side) was broken. I just thought for a short moment, how this could have happened, came to the conclusion, that for the worst, someone had taken a prilla out of it and I simply enjoyed the (rest of the) can. I guess the unpractical seal broke during the shipment.

Maybe I'm an aberration, but I think there are so many much more likely ways to die, that I don't mind unsealed cans.

            Cheers!

Buysnus.com sent mine out on the 10th of this month, and I still haven't received it.

This close to Christmas it is probably just the increase in mail. I wouldn't worry about it.
