I was turned on to snus by a swedish friend of mine...He saw me using nasal snuff and asked if I had ever tried snus...I tried one of his and liked it.....He gave me a tin of general and said to go online to buysnus....The rest is history...I have tried (Without any luck) to turn my friends that smoke on to snus....Everyone equates it with American dip..They won't give it a chance....So they go on coughing and wheezing and I can't get them to even try it...Go figure...

I sort of got my roomate to use it for a short time last year. He liked the Offroad Long Cut Wintergreen. He now buys the crap Camel stuff once in a while. Other than that I just know smokers and dippers.

I'm sad to say that all attempts to convert smokers have failed miserably. They're all stuck on the "quit or die" mentality and see me as a "cheater" so to speak. They seem tot think that I haven't really quit, i.e. I haven't gone through the pains of withdrawal and thus haven't atoned for my sins. It's silly, but what can you do?

Back when I was younger and lived in Sweden it was common place,
but then I moved to America and in the last 11 years i have not ONCE met someone who imported snus or even knew what it was!!!

Is it that all the American snusare are Swedes living here in America, like myself?

Although its becoming more common place now that they are trying to push it here. (But i wouldnt consider Camel Snus to be even close)

Yes. It was a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while, who pulled out a tin, let me try it, and then gave me what was left. The next day I placed an order and have never looked back.

I actually try to hide my snus usage, but when it does come up, I'm unfailingly met with "I tried that snus stuff and hated it". When I inquire as to what brand they tried, they've all said Camel.

I'm hesitant to hand out a portion since I use extra sterk which probably wouldn't create a good first impression.
