Today I was with a big dipping crowd and wasn't about to pull out my Icetool and play 20 questions.

I pulled out my can of Gotland's Gul, packed it a few times and threw in a big old pinch back by my molars where I used to dip. It was delicious, did not make a mess and gave me a hell of a buzz (which was not expected or appreciated) After the initial giant pinch, I went for smaller pinches but kept it in the bottom all day. Worked like a charm. I didn't spit once and really didn't have much to "gut" (but i never did when I dipped in that spot either).

I'm confident any seasoned dipper who is accustomed to fine cut or snuff will have no problem controlling a coarser cut snus in the bottom. I'm sure I could do it fine with a cut like General's based on the way it handles in the top. The dip skills I already had definitely helped.

The only ones I will not attempt in the bottom are Roda and the Gotebourgs snuses but, after today, I think it kinda grew on me a little and I might just do this a little more often.

I had my (almost) 4 year old son with me and when I first did this he yelled, "Dad! Where's your snos?!?! Why do you have cockies in your mouth again?!?!" He stopped yelling when I showed him the tin.

using that tool thingie, using a fancy pouch w/lid trashcan, spending ten minutes making a prilla...not gonna happen.
*sigh* i was afraid of your first paragraph...these rules are in place for a reason. Still gonna give it a try...I kinda baked regular fine cut dip in a smiliar fashion to the snus hillbilly style...played with it in the can molding it.
I'm gonna attempt that style with my order and hope for the best i want to be a snusser...but only if it works for me.

Check out the guy in this video at 1:24 - 1:40. I doubt if you use snus like this anyone would say anything..

              What is Nordic Chew?
              by SnusOn.Com
Chewing is definitely not a new way of enjoying tobacco - it is a rather old tradition - but the new, modern Nordic Chew is more like snus than traditional chewing tobacco. It looks the same way as Swedish snus and comes in loose form or in portions. ...

              What is Swedish Snus?
              by SnusOn.Com
Well, Swedish snus originates from the 18th century and consists of four main ingredients: tobacco, water, salt and humectant substance. Snus is a smokeless tobacco product. Different flavors are added to these four ingredients which provide each and every brand with its special character!

The Swedish snus (smokeless tobacco) is unique thanks to the special methods used when manufacturing the high quality tobacco. ...
