    New American snus

I found a picture of this on Flickr which was uploaded in September of 2009. Has anyone heard of it before? The "Natural" flavor sounds good. Hopefully its not sweetened.

Interesting name to say the least. The cans look cheap though.

              http://www.cheyenneintl.com/who-we-are/

Cheyenne International was founded in 2002 as a full line tobacco product manufacturer. Our facility in North Carolina, the heart of American tobacco country, services both domestic and international markets. Since our start-up we have continued to create exciting tobacco products made to high quality standards in our modern facility. As our business grows, we still maintain the foundations it was created upon: partnership and providing our customers with a quality product, at a fair price. We hope you find our website informative and useful. Check back often as we are always forward looking with our brands and our business practices.
The smokeless link doesn't work yet on their website. It just says "Coming Soon".

I'm with this guy. The standards that snus have to meet in Sweden are a huge part of why I use it. They can put anything they want in tobacco in America, so, if it isn't Swedish, and it doesn't list the ingredients, I'm not interested.

I don't know if that's really true. They can't just put "anything", and I have seen some websites, like US Smokeless, do have an ingredient list.

This is a North Carolina company, so I will happily at least give them every opportunity to succeed. When I can finally find it, I will let folks know what I think.

It lists the ingredients because its Government Mandated. American product ingredients are listed online for the most part.

I was just stirring the pot and trollin' but you guys are so cynical! no wonder why snus will never be popular in the states. Stock pile now and never give America a chance because once its gone.... thats all you'll be stuck with.

Not quite that cynical L baby (almost but not there just yet)

I would love to see an American Snus company make it (and make it the right way). I would be their biggest proponent and supporter. But so far the track record has been less than impressive. Klondike started out with the vision of being American made snus. However, they ended up backing off an important part of their purity commitment. The details and specifics were discussed in length her on the forum. You should be able to search it no problem.

I just do not think that the demands of snus production are cost effective in America. In Sweden every one must play by the same production rules. However, in America, where snus is a nitch market, not everyone has to abide by such high standards of production-- I just don't see it working (and to date I have not seen it work).

It will take some one like SM (with an established international base to draw on) to open the American market. Then you will see successful American companies making real snus in America.
