To cut down with all this speculation which is going on the forum I have now decided to write down the actual fact on what is Snus AB, Oden´s, Olde Viking and Gajane. I can start with confirming that Gajane bought Snus AB but runs under the name GN Tobacco. Lagget Vector´s group wanted a snus once a pone a time, they searched among some snus manufacturing companies and Snus AB did have the best quality snus with the lowest nitrosamine. Since the Swedish Snus is known to be kept in refrigerators, they wanted to save money on that by making dry snus. How ever that was the biggest mistake ever this made them regret and made Snus AB fall to there knees. Regarding the can, I can agree that they are ugly and not a typical Swedish snus can. But when Gajane bought Snus AB they had around 100,000 cans of the ugly once which in actual fact is much more expensive than other snus can, designed by Ligget Vector´s Group. How ever there is a new can on the way which is getting patented approximate time for launch is April 2010. Next taste up coming is the original which will be launched in the middle of February.
PS. if you guys are wondering about a information regarding Gajane´s Snus ask don´t speculate and I will try to answer them as soon as possible

Snuff factory in Bispgården have new owner

Bispgården LT, one of the county's more protruding industries, it some time ago bankrupts snus factory in Snusab Bispgården, has new owners. Operations restarted within a month.

- The acquisition was completed on Wednesday afternoon and we have lots of planning to do, not least to provide inputs in the form of tobacco and flavorings, as well as spare parts for machinery, "says Melander.

Snusab bankruptcy was managed by attorney Thomas Olrog at Carl law firm in Stockholm, which has sold Bispgårdenindustrin where the original owners had time to invest a total of 29 million before the business went into nitrogen.

Lennart Melander think Snusab, with at most six employees, was actually an excellent business, but died the financial crisis death.

The company had established cooperation with the U.S. tobacco giant Liggett Group for the delivery of huge quantities of snus to the large-scale missionary call of the snus mill and the brands and the Grand Prix Tourney launched in the U.S. market.

Production of Sweden and Norway was stopped in favor of the U.S. effort, and in August ended Liggett order.

- Cash Flow The problem became overwhelming us, we had no money to restart the Swedish and Norwegian market and the boat sank.

GN Tobacco is expected to only produce snus and launch more brands. Plans are to resume cooperation with Liggett.

- But then it will be the second premise, "says Lennart Melander.

The brands that will be produced in Bispgården is primarily Odens and Roots

Here we go again,
Facts: GN tobacco is not initials for Gajane. It is the beginning of his name and the beginning of his last name.
Geng Chang is a bio chemist professor and his job is to make the Snus with the least amount of nitrosamine.
ROOT S is not even on the GN tobaccos list of production. Right now it is Olde Viking and the next one is confidential right at the moment.
GN tobacco will not make any effort to re-contact Ligget Group since the production is booked only for Gajane.
Geworg spells actually GEVORG.

Bispgården LT Within the next few weeks restarted snuff factory in Bispgården. Tobacco is the entry from India.

The first two tonnes of tobacco arrives one day with the air, whereupon the container with about 30 tonnes, per boat.

LT has been previously reported on the first attempt to snus factory in Bispgården, Snusab, some time ago went bankrupt.

Bankruptcy estate, including industrial house in Bispgården, has now been bought by the sales company Gajane KB, Stockholm, which is big in Sweden on tobacco products of all sorts.

Gajane KB has about ten years old and owned by Armenienbördige(?) Gevorg Nalbandyan Gajane, Stockholm.

The factory in Bispgården becomes a separate company and a clean site and will henceforth be called GN Tobacco Sweden AB and the GN are the initials of the forenames Gajane.

Bankrupts Snusabs president Lennart Melander, Stockholm, will be accountable in Bispgården.

Before Snusabs bankruptcy LT could almost serial-rate reporting on the company's tribulations, not least in the U.S..

There had been agreed with the tobacco giant Liggett Group that Liggett would market and sell Snusabs products in the U.S. and that Liggett would have a minimum of 320 000 cans / container per month.

There were teething problems in the U.S. in the form of special warning labels and special closures.

This while Snusab forced blow of his other-established markets in order to cope with the large U.S. commitment.

A year ago, in the shadow of the economic crisis, cessation orders from Liggett and the resulting shortage of cash trying to restart the markets Snusab recently cut off was not.

- That was a fact of bankruptcy, "says Lennart Melander.

According to Melander acquired Liggett Group was interested in buying Snusab, something that was never implemented.

As the time after the bankruptcy was found one days Gajane now known results.

- What we do now is to give the whole production line, a review and update their machines.

Site manager in Bispgården, Geng Chang, engaged in visiting the industrial equipment and mixing new flavors for the production expected to start at the turn.

- We will offer both different flavors and strengths / mg of nicotine per gram, with everything from extra strong to weak.

The size of the staff is even now uncertain.

- We hire as needed.

Regarding the name of the products have nothing yet published.

Speculators got owned!

ANyways, the can isn't so bad I ran out a few times in my life and had to get a can of grand prix/tourney. THe can is able to seal VERY nicely. not the pretty eye candy but function over face value.

Thanks for the info Adrian. I think we do speculate alot, esp since this is the 1st time a Gajane spokesman has visited here, I am happy you have. The V2 and SM people post here at times too.

I wish all the best with Gajane snus, in that I hope it's really good, and nothing like the dry Snus AB.

Here is a question, if you answered and I missed it, I am sorry. I read the new Gajane plant will continue with Odens.

Now to be honest, I like Odens, I am more into the Original, and while the Classic is OK, I really like the Extra Stark Original, portion at least.

Which is another question, is their plans for loose snus? I am not a loose user, except very rarely, but I know many really like the Odens loose.

I am personally not a fan of the flavored snus, so I mainly look forward to try the Original of Olde Viking, seems "Ye" should be in front of that.

Anyway, I am glad to see company spokesmen post here, we do gossip at times, and it's nice to get the info, I guess it's sometimes more fun to speculate then to write an email.

Hi,
Gajane owns the brand Oden´s and GN tobacco has no plans to take production of Oden´s in its hands.

There are some plans to start producing loose Snus on Olde Viking but it won´t be something which is coming up soon. Since the user´s of loose Snus is rapidly decreasing around the world so it is at the end of GN tobaccos list when we talk about production.

Information regarding Snus production and qualities:

The problems smaller or new snus companies have is the smell of ammoniac. Which could be smelled even in Swedish match General Snus. That is because there are several ways to produce Snus. Let us call it short way and the long way. When you produce in the short way you have to really be good in tobacco biology to know which tobacco leafs combine with other tobacco leafs and if they together match the flavouring content which you are adding. Swedish match knows since they are experienced and lots of cash flow. But the short way will always reduce the quality, but who cares when there is a high demand. The long way is different and not many people know about it and its procedure. But you would keep the high quality and the smell of ammoniac goes almost away. But guys it is not the smell which is harmful it will just give you a headache, it is the nitrosamine which is the biggest cat. There is nitrosamine in food contents also but since you put the Snus on you gum, it could cause problems if the quality of snus is not good.

That is enough for now, and if there are some suggestions on what flavouring people would like to have in the market, i am here ;-)

Correction in my own review:

It is not nitrosamine which cases problems directly they say that it could cause cancer however it is the PH value which could cause some gum problems. If it is not correctly checked to have the right standards required.

Oh, good. I'm not saying GN won't make good products but I don't want Oden's to change.

Also, I thought mostly our speculation was on target. What were the main points that were being clarified? SnusAB produced Grand Prix/Tourney for Liggett. SnusAB went bankrupt. Gajane bought SnusAB. GN is producing Olde Viking for Gajane. Oden's will continue to be produced by its current manufacturer. What else?

Finally this long and short way of making snus is intriguing. I think you are saying that SM uses the short way? SnusAB and now GN use the long way? In what way do these processes effect PH? Are we talking fermentation here?

Oh, and if you are willing to listen I assure you the snuson community would be a great source for flavoring suggestions. At least for the experienced American market.

Olde Viking
New snus from Gajane, the producer of the Oden snus. This snus on the contrary to the Oden snus manufactured in their own new factory. They say that the quality and flavor of this will be even better than the Oden snus. The first flavor under the brand Olde Viking is Spearmint.
