Was just at time.come and there was an advertisement banner for General with the slogan "discreet tobacco use" --- That's the first ad I've see in the US for "real" swedish snus. Did anyone else see this? Looks like someone really wants to expand their market.

Well, it is Time magazine, online or not, which is a big name US publication. So a General ad on their site is cool. With the net, more people may read the online version than the paper magazine these days too. Check the paper magazine, maybe there is an ad there too?

No, .com = "commercial". Everyone around the world can use it, even if non-commercial. Snuson.com for example is a purely finnish website with a server in Helsinki.Originally posted by Liandri.com = US!
But I often wondered why so many non-commercial-sites form the U.S. and also Canada use the ending .com instead of .us or .ca.
I came a bit late to the internet-revolution (back in 2000 when it was already established - I mostly wait till new technologies become affordable and/or technically mature). Maybe one of our "web-veterans" can say a bit more. But .com = .us is definitely wrong.
Cheers!

I posted about a full back-page Rolling Stone add last summer. Don't care to look for it now, but it was for some vendor -- maybe getsnus? It had pics of General, Roda, Catch maybe, and some explanation about Swedish Snus. IN any case, it was a very expensive and bold advertisement. (maybe not getsnus - OK now I might look for it)
EDIT: It was getsnus. And my memory served incorrectly about the brands advertised (and it was Feb, not Summer):

From the thread about the GetSnus AD in Rolling Stone:
That's something I have been worried about. As snus gets (if/when) it gets bigger, the "bandwagon" kids jumping on and it becoming trendy.Originally posted by TBDI just don't want a bunch of underage pups trying to "game the system" and ruin it for the rest of us.
New people are wonderful and the ones who genuinely want info should be welcomed. The trolls need to be dealt with as they are in every other corner of the web.
A certain forum dealing with tobacco seems to have a bunch of loudmouth teenagers feeling superior for breaking the law. I'd hate to see that happen here.
But then again....as baker put it best:
Originally posted by bakerbarberYeah, we can all say we were there before it was trendy.

by chadizzy1I wanted to make this announcement here as well. Why? SnusOn is where I learned about nasal snuff a decade ago, and where I saw a lot of nasal snuff...
