    skruf start vs skruf portion

Hi, I'm new to this forum (had to register 2 times before being able to log in for some reason :?)

i'm wondering how big the nic hit difference is between skruf op and sp? I have my first sp in now and I was honestly expecting more. I'm also wondering if i will still be satisfied with orignal portion after having a can of stark?

here's my snusing story: i'm 19, i've been snusing regurarly since early august or late july this year. before that i only snused at parties (had my first snus at age 16 or 17). I never really smoked before starting to snus (except a few times when i was really drunk). I started with skruf op and have sticked to that faithfully (though i have also tried skruf white, skruf tranebær, catch eucalyptus, general op and white, gøteborgs rape op and white and lucky strike op), the strongest snus i've tried before popping in the skruf start today was nick and johnny original, but i was so drunk it didn't have any effect/i didn't notice lol.

I know you people don't recomend that people snus if they didn't smoke before, but the snus tradition in different here in scandinavia, especially for teens and young adults. here it's pretty common for people to start snus first then move on to smoking; don't worry though, i'm not going to start smoking since i play football at a competetive level for u20 here in norway it seems to me that most people who snus in america are doing it to quit smoking? anyway it's nice to be here, i hope to be active

    Hiya, welcome to Snuson :^)

The stark snus is noticeably stronger with the Skruf, and it seems to hit harder than the nicotine numbers would indicate. If you're using it for the buzz, I think you'll end up disappointed in any snus you get. You'll build up a tolerance to the nicotine, and the buzz will be gone. Otherwise, the standard portions shouldn't seem to weak as long as you're using the snus for flavor, and not a buzz.

I didn't start snus specifically to stop smoking, but it worked out that way. Just as well. I enjoy snus as much as cigarettes, and snus is much better for the health :^)

      Welcome to Snuson skruflover

Yeah, I will skip my usual lectures, things just culturally different there, kinda like me walking up to a teenager here and launching into a lecture about how bad cigarettes are. Just not something I would do.

Regardless, whatever buzz you felt when you first started using snus will soon never come again, same with me when I first started smoking cigarettes.

I use sterks when I just feel that extra need for nicotine, but using sterks has never ruined my love and taste for regular. I have been using snus for three years, at different points, I used more sterks, other times less. At the moment, I am using less sterks than I probably ever have. Ask me again in 3 months

okay, thanks for the replies. I guess i'll keep on snusing original and keep the stark can for "special occasions" (mornings and after heavy meals)

So Skruflover, you're the reason all these American anti-tobacco campaigners claim that smokeless tobacco is the gateway drug to smoking!!! I am kidding of course!!

            skruflover,

I think the reason starks are so popular in Norway is because of your crazy tobacco taxes. The starks give you a much bigger nicotine hit for your NOK. Use the starks but just use fewer portions/prillas for a lower cost.

in all fairness, norway also has the highest average income per year, so i'm not worrying about the prices and taxes :P

Hi skruflover, and welcome from me as well.

I'd used Skruf Stark (portions and lös), a few cans' worth, before I finally cracked open a can of Skruf OP. I was honestly expecting to be disappointed and I was not at all.

I can't answer your question as I don't get into starks, but welcome to the forum!
