    General Snus questions.

After trying General White Portion today, I'm considering trying some of their other varieties. Some questions though, since this is outside of my realm of understanding - you guys can help me out on this one, because I'm brand new to the bergamot game, and I'm working my way up.

What's the difference between General Maxi and General ES? If big differences exist - which do you prefer?

What's the difference between General Onyx and the original General flavor in General White?

I'm going to order and try a few more General products on my next order, but wanted to hear some suggestions. I'm really enjoying the quality of General snus, so I want to expand a little bit into the brand.

I'm not a fan of General, so I don't know all the styles inside and out. I can help with a couple though.

General Maxi is just General original portion but bigger. Any extra nicotine is due to there being more tobacco. I've never had General ES.

Onyx is more lemony as opposed to bergamot, and it has some licorice in the background. Original General is earthier, with more subdued citrus notes. I don't remember if I've had General White before. I found I didn't care for whites early on, so I haven't bothered with them much.

Dude, you're the snus reviewer. Place a 5-can order from getsnus, and in 3 days, you tell us the difference!

General White - Pretty Earl Grey style. Good balanced snus.

General Maxi - Same as the normal General portions, but with more surface area and more run. Pretty tasty if you like General as is.

General ES: A bit more bland, but stronger in the nic department. Doesn't quite have all the flavor there....tastes a bit artificial but still delicious. I have a roll of the los in my fridge right now.

General Onyx: Basically a sterk version of the general white but with fancier packaging and more of a citrus thing going on.

I recommend you try all of them if you enjoy General White.

Onyx is very Lemony, almost "Lemon Flavored", and it's very good.
General Extra Sterk seems kinda bland to me, but it's OK.
General Sterk, I think is better, kinda like Claq Qui but a white.
Original Portion has what someone said an Earthy quality, I agree, to me, it has a certain funk, but not a bad funk.

I am really curious about the Silver. I don't see a need or reason to become a super nic fiend, which I think I may have slipped into.

If you don't like General Original Portion, you will almost certainly not like General Maxi. Using General Maxi is like getting hit in the face with a snus mop!

              Chad,

              Don't forget the General Lös.

I threw in a can in my last BuySnus order to resample it. Now that I have my tastebuds back after quiting smoking 10 months ago and the newbie factor of lös has been conquered, I can now appreciate it. There is no comparison, portions and lös are two different animals. Too soon to tell but I have a feeling General Lös is going to become one of my favorites.

Thanks guys. I'm probably going to order all 3 of them and try them out, along with a can or two of the los too. If I'm going to do it, might as well go all out, eh?

Chad, Oynx is unlike anything else.

I keep hearing so much about it, I'm really interested. Is it like Grov Black? I couldn't get into that one, I found it kinda...I dunno bland...mild...I didn't dig it that much.

I second the Onyx being more lemony. It tastes a lot richer to me too. I've just started using them so I can't attest to it, but a lot of people on this forum have said that they started out loving it, used it a lot, and ended up burning out on it. Most people seem to think it's a great every once in a while snus. As opposed to General White which is something I could use almost exclusively.

General ES is wonderful in my opinion. I must depart from joshua and tom502 a bit because I actually find it to be more flavorful. Everyone's different though. I find a certain sweetness to it. It actually reminds me of the sweetness form barbecue sauce. I think I might be the only one though. So don't put one in and expect it to be a barbecue flavored snus or anything! It's definitely not the primary taste.

I've never tried the Maxi as I've never felt the need to put something that big in my mouth ( hahaha, yeah I know.)

Unlike anything else out there Chad. Just try it,

BTW, know I am laughing hysterically at you. Also know now why I was always so critical of your recommendations. You have been playing expert how long?? And only NOW trying General. There is something just SO wrong with all of that Chad, forgive me for my very catty thoughts today.

But glad to see you at least finally branching out a bit.

Yeah yeah. I know. But in my defense, I started on flavored and my tastes developed around that. I stepped "out" of my comfort zone and am just now getting into the other realm of snus.

But you understand now much better why I was so cranky with you in the beginning. Honestly, I would be much less so if you didn't "try" so hard top come off like an expert. And an "expert" you jus6t can't be. You aren't much more than a <very well educated> newbie. I want your suggestions and reviews to better reflect that

Do me a favor, go back to some of your earlier posts and re-read them. I suspect they will embarrass you a bit now.

I love you Chad, but you sometimes drive me up a wall. You try way harder than you need to.

I am always careful to couch any reviews I do to make sure folks know it is just my observations. I have biases like anyone else, and any reviews I do, or suggestions I make, always try and reflect those. even with as much experience as I have, I can never say something "is". Just how I react to it.
