What style of blues? Smooth lounge, or gritty juke joint?

What I have heard so far, smooth lounge. I hear another woman the other night who Hannah said was real good, and she wasn't kidding. She does the gritty juke joint and it was interesting to hear and see them back to back.

Very cool. I like both styles, and it depends on my mood which I like better :^)

I was telling Hannah last night that each style worked to the particular benefit of each person. Lisa, although her voice isn't quite as good as Hannah's has this incredible presence on stage. And her style works to her advantage as it calls attention to HER.

Whereas with Hannah, I just go lost in her voice. It wasn't about her, although she is stunning on stage, but it was the music itself, he voice gently enveloping and caressing you.

But I thoroughly enjoyed all of it

The problem is that people are brainwashed from a very young age with the media and their misinformation train. Plus, people my age were on the front lines of the "War on Drugs". The battlefields were elementary school classrooms.

We are taught not to think for ourselves anymore, that those in charge know the facts and pass them onto us. As we get older, hopefully we are intelligent enough to get past the hand-holding and look at the research and facts for ourselves. That's too much work for most people, though.
