    Favorite "Recession" Los Brand

During these hard economic times, I'm looking for a los brand that tastes good. The only value brands I have tried are Retro portions and Gustavus portions, which both really impressed me. However, I've yet to try a value brand los. Tell me what you like!

LD by a decent margin. Here's my overall ranking...

    LD
    Granit
    Gustavus
Taboca- value? remember the tins are only 35g. The total cost would have to be computed.
    Knox
Phantom- this could be higher depending on style. I like the Brown a lot.
    Offroad
    Kronan

I forgot to take that into account about Taboca. Thanks for pointing that out!

So what makes L.D. your favorite value brand? I haven't heard much about it. Most people rave about Granit, so I'm surprised L.D. is currently getting the majority of the votes.

LD's just a strong bergamot snus, with no smoke flavor. The flavor's bold without going overboard, and "crisper" than Granit. Granit is a more direct General clone, but better than General imo. I'd take Granit over General every time.

It doesn't make any difference how popular LD is, if you don't like bergamot, you won't like LD.

Another thing too. Northerner and BuySnus raised prices on their bargain snus much more than the mainline snus.

A roll of LD @ Northerner used to be about $17 now it's $24.70 and $8.54 for shipping. That's $33.24

The most expensive lös on GetSnus is General Ekstra Sterk for $31.00 and if I spend $50, shipping is free.

I vote Gustavus. For me, LD and Granit taste okay, but the mouth-feel of them doesn't sit well with me. Even when the pris is sitting nice and tight above my teeth, I feel like if I smile it'll run down my face like water. I don't really know how else to describe it. I don't think either of them taste bad, but I'm uncomfortable with them in my mouth for some reason.

Gustavus tastes good to me, and it'll hold up forever. Knox is my second pick, to me it's like budget-Skruf.

                Well, Knox, of course!

I'd pay premium price for it if I had to......not that I ever hope I have to.

I remember when a roll of Luckies was $22. On average, it seems snus was raised $0.70 per can overnight! Does this price increase stem from increasing taxes in Scandinavia, or is it just greed from snus suppliers?

Neither one. It's a complicated mix of things. The exchange rate plays a part and new warehouses, special sales and freebies don't pay for themselves.
