I thought I'd post this topic here before hassling the Professionals.
IIRC, the lit indicates that a standard snus portion of 8 mg. nicotine releases about one "strong" cigarette's dosage of nicotine to the bloodstream within 40 minutes of popping -- about 1.1 mg. max. The rate of the release varies according to the portion wrapping, pH levels of the snus and the mouth, etc.
Now, I'm wondering -- does the portion stop there? I'm one of those who tends to hold on to a portion for as long as it's releasing flavor. Sometimes I don't spit it out for as long as two hours. (Yes, I like drip and play with the portion the whole time.) Am I continuing to get additional nic during the second hour? At what rate? Has any snus lab ever calculated the maximum dose of nicotine available from a standard portion in, say, a two-hour timeframe?
Everybody's subjective impressions and conjectures welcome! Thanks all...
