Yeah that press release was from when Kardus was offered all the time. According to the BuySnus email, they are not even going to produce the limited edition Kardus this year :cry:

The production of Kardus Premium Blend has been stopped

We are very sorry to inform you that Swedish Match has completely and unexpected stopped the production of Kardus Premium Blend. According to a press release we got from Swedish Match today they have stopped the production due to low sale figures.

Here is the explanation from Swedish Match:
Kardus Premium Blend was launched during the summer 2006 and got a big attention and interest among the consumers and the press, as the first widely spread premium snus on the market. Unfortunately, we can now see that the sale is lower than we expected which can be explained of the product's price. With the big focus that has beed on the price on snus since the previous autumn due of the tax increase. We can see that a premium product of this nature currently is not profitability in the high taxed loose snus segment.

Since a product of this high quality is very expensive to produce can or desires we not lower the price, we choose instead to cease with the production and the sale of Kardus Premium Blend. Kardus however entirely will not disappear from the market without being left in the form of Kardus Superior Blend, the most exclusive snus we have and probable also in the entire world. Once a year, we intend to continue to launch a very limited edition off the world's most excellent snus.

Slightly OT, but related - does anyone know exactly when the Julesnus will go on sale?

I know it's 'December', but I'd like to be able to order right when it becomes available so as to make absolutely sure I don't get caught out by the christmas postal nightmare. I did ask Northerner but haven't received a reply.

nah, it's an old page. Northerner never seems to take down their old product pages, they just remove all the links to them - you can't get to it from anywhere on the site but google can still find it. Kardus is definitely discontinued

Well, I did a product search for Kardus and I wound up with this:

Now, I have no idea if this is just an old page or not. I looked through the loose snus section and couldn't find any mention of it. It only came up after I did a search for it.

Somebody find out if this is legit or not, because if it is, I'm going to place an order for it as soon as possible.

Northerner have the animated vertical banner for Kardus on their site at the moment (the 'Cut. Not ground.' one).

Does anyone know if this has recently come back, or was it just there because I was looking at the Julesnus page that probably hasn't been updated for nearly a year?

i've only bought the 50g tins of the "90%" amazing snus. I hope they have the box of the "99%" kardus this year. I think i'm going to have to spend a little bit of time at work the next few weeks making fake email accounts and requesting a kardus 2007 release. It's long overdue.

I almost can't even imagine the incredible taste of kardus anymore.... It's been way to long since savoring that wonderful flavor.... maybe it's because i'm pretty buzzed, or it's just been way too long!
