Thoughts on snus

over there and it seems like us vs them, vets vs snubs. here it's like everyone loves everybody. no matter if you're new or old, everyone helps everyone and it's like a family. that's why i love it here.

I don't was to bad mouth SnusCentral, as Larry puts a lot of work into the site, but I just don't like anything about it :^D I don't care for the logo, the pages are badly organized, and cluttered, and I don't care for the forum software. Larry does a good bit of quality writing, but I don't dig his style.

I've been wanting to bitch about this for awhile, but have held back, as I don't want to start an Us vs Them mentality which doesn't do anybody any good. But since someone else brought it up... :^D

there's alot of people reviewing things, and it is good info that is getting out there, but i think the site would be better minus the conspiracy theory stuff and the world they built up about in exile, snus guards, etc... it's just kinda goofy, and i don't like that attitude to be about snus. to be honest, it is THE snus site. if people don't want forums and they want info, that's where they go to get info.

LOL, it is frightening how similar we are sometimes. If you do a forum search, you will see that I have NEVER posted anything directly nasty about them. I *hinted* a few times I wasn't a fan, especially in my posts blasting Getsnus for having a forum, but I have always been so careful to keep my mouth shut and not directly criticize Larry

But a few things have happened since then to make me less discreet.


How they treated Chad, Xobe's defection, and his attitude suddenly that Snuson just suddenly "sucks" Snuson that Xobe was as much responsible for building as anyone) and just the complete and utter disgusting realty of how his site is organized and comes across. I did make one attempt to check them out after Xobe left, and I just had to quickly flee.

Whatever, I ain't starting no wars either, and as I said earlier, I am a big enough whore I ordered snus through Larry last week to save a few bucks even though I have always thought his store front was the biggest ego jerk-off I have ever known in the snus world.

So kind of happy to get a chance to unload. As I posted above, my loyalty is to Snuson,, not personalities. I miss zero, I miss Zobe, I miss a lot of folks who no longer post here. But more importantly, I am so damn grateful for all the amazing new folks who DO post here. And us old and cranky old-timers who still stick around. :wink:

I know Zobe left, but Zero went to snuscentral too? That sucks. That was the first site that I came across when I was looking up snus (after Wiki of course!), but it was cluttered and the whole RJR has a nuclear bomb stuff was getting old. This place is so much nicer, and you usually get a helpful reply back from a question within minutes of you posting it.

The only complaint I have about this forum is the search engine. I can't find anything with it. Snuffhouse has the near perfect search engine. I wish the one here could be made like that one.

yea, you should be able to search by topic name. You search a word and you get everything.

No, Maybe, But I didn't mean to imply that. I only know of Xobe purposely leaving Snuson for Snuscentral. I just mentioned Zero as another long time poster who doesn't post here any more. I really have spent so little time on Snuscentral, I have no idea who else posts there.

Veganpunk and Tom, you know you can use Google to search just within a particular domain. So I use Google to search a couple of different forums I use. Helps at least.

There's an easy workaround use google's sitesearch

in the google search box type site:snuson.com + searchterms

I usually do pretty well with the search here. Combining user names with search terms I generally find what I'm looking for. That doesn't help the newcomer who hasn't already seen the thread in question though.

when I was shopping, I was looking for reviews on 1847, and I found something interesting on SnusCentral on Larrys review.

"Philip Morris bought the Rocker snus factory in Sweden. This is way before my time, but one of the snus veterans on Snuson said the 1847 tastes "EXACTLY like Rocker Red portion, maybe a little less strongly flavoured. Many folks were sad when Rocker ceased eponymous production...". So the Philip Morris 1847 is REAL Swedish snus."

I wonder who he quoted? And it's funny he said "way before my time". haha.
