In search of the perfect white

After about three months I'm finding the sterks, which were my saviour at the beginning, too strong so I'm on the hunt for a regular whites to be my new go-to.
(I've got and have tried lots of portions but I find whites preferable so I'm only looking at whites here.)

The story so far:

Sterks
Grov Svart - still the best/richest flavour even though it's a bit strong
General Sterk - my previous #1 for all round attributes - now too strong
General Onyx - also tasty but too rich now and too strong except for occasionally

Regular Whites
Camel (Swedish) - very nice, nearly there
LS White - very tasty but a bit too much salt/taste
1847 - not bad now and then but has an odd after-taste sometimes
Granit - surprisingly good, less pronounced than LS White
General white - I had high hopes for this one because of the star formation but the taste isn't doing it for me. Similar to Granit but Granit tastes better to me.
Catch Eucalyptus - I've not had much luck with minty-like snus, maybe the combination just doesn't work for me
Tre Ankare - I've only had the minis and they were okay, nothing special
GR#2 - excellent for a fruity change but not an all-day snus

I'm thinking my next order will comprise of:

Ettan white - just because everyone goes on about Ettan so much
Retro white - just because Sage recommends them!
Roda Lacket white - a bit of fruit for a change (quite liked Claq Qui but it's not a white and now it's too strong)
Grovsnus white - since I like Svart so much, I'm hoping it's similar but less strong
Phantom Brown white - another popular one on here but, to be honest, I'm hesitant about this one because I've not liked the Danish ones so much generally but they were all portions, not whites.

Other than the above the others that might be worth considering are the original Skruf white (I thought that Skruf Sterk white was okay but too big) and Kronan white but it's a bit of a budget snus (not necessarily a bad thing but with the taxes we have to pay here in the EU it doesn't make a lot of difference - about 50% of the prices is taxes so we might as well pay a little more and get a good snus IHMO).

Personally, I really like Ettan and grov whites, they may be my faves.
I also like this Gotesborg Rape No. 2 white a bit. I'm not much into the minty snus either. There is a lot of whites I still haven't tried.

Oh, I think Skruf Original White is good too.

I'm a bit partial to Kronan whites too.

I also like Gote #1 white. I can do that all day

Thanks for the replies, nothing new to add in that case...

(As an aside, I'm not sure what's going on, today I've only had two whites, two minis (Taboca Strong, these were for practical reasons - work) and one sterk (Grov Svart of course). Seem like my nicotine intake is going down, not up like most people warn about - this is a long term trend, not just today BTW)

No, I'm just not too happy with regulars. I've tried (a bit like los) but they're just too "wet" for me. Of course if it were a choice between a regular or nothing, I'd cope. Much like all the skanky cigarettes I've smoked over the years because there was nothing else available. Any port in a storm.

Kitabz, I used almost all regulars my first year of using snus. Suddenly, they just got too wet for me, the flavor would come on too strong and i was spitting my snus pout in less than 10 minutes. It was then I started to use whites and I haven't looked back since. That was about 18 months ago now I guess.


There are a few regulars I liked. The old Pall Mall, Swedish Camel, but none as much as I love Whites.


So ignore everyone else who just doesn't understand. :wink:

Umm....Sage, the guy who always says Elyxr tastes like a**??? I have NEVER claimed that Elyxr was "good", only what it does for you is good. BIG difference. :wink:

The only white portions I use are Goat Rape, Goat Rape #2, and Roda.

I'm a fan of anything Roda Lackett. Whites, Los, Claq Qui, they're like the three musketeers to me.
Almost as awesome as my General and Ettan buddies, but for reg portions I find I'm drifting a lot more towards Gotlandssnus.
I digress, I would have to say that Roda Lackett and Tre Ankare White portions are a couple of my favorites as far as whites are concerned. I usually can't do a single white all day, but I could definitely do that with Roda Whites.
I'm about to crack open a can of Ettan white, I love Ettan Los and Reg portions, so we'll see if this works.
