Only twelve portions per tin for about the same cost as a tin of Swedish? What the hell is that?

Interesting thing: I live in Portland, Oregon where Camel has been test marketing it's "snus." When I bought it for the first time back in January, it came in a round tin and said "product of Sweden" on the bottom, but the newer tins don't state a place of origin.

So maybe this crap was made in Sweden at one time but isn't anymore. Or maybe Camel have just told a lie. Personally, it wouldn't surprise me.

Product OF Sweden is an interesting play on words. Not quite the same as MADE in Sweden. If it was genuinely Swedish the ingredients markings would have been in Swedish. Glad you found the real Swedish Snus Soft Morning City - Enjoy

Wasn't it PM that bought the Swedish producer Snus AB (who made/make Rocker)? Or was it BAT?
I think PM did and they studied the process, and when they were ready to produce in the USA they stopped putting "Product of Sweden" on the package.

That sounds about right. I really don't think the stuff is made in Sweden. Seriously, the Camel Snus Original tastes like a very substandard diet cola. I don't think the Swedes would have anything to do with such tripe.

i dont like that when snus names are same as smoke names. when i visited sweden last year i saw lucky stricke snus and i allmoste throw up.
It woun't beguile me to buy it.

            horrible.

snus is snus and smoke is smoke

I thought much the same, but Lucky Strike quite surprised me - it's actually quite a nice snus with a warm and, as they say, "toasted" flavour. Great with coffee!

Swedish Alternative to Marlboro Rich Snus

As some of you might have noticed from my other postings, I'm the idiot that actually likes the flavor in Marlboro Rich snus. If you're going to go with mini white portions, extra flavor is a good thing. However, for obvious reasons (ingredients, quality, availability, etc), I prefer Swedish snus.

I just opened a tin of CatchDry Vanilla Coffee mini white portion snus.. I tossed it in my last order somewhat on a lark (I generally have disliked non-tobacco-flavored snus in the past).

The flavor is actually similar to Marlboro Rich snus.. but stronger, with a little more bitter-coffee flavor. This stuff is *good*.

It's certainly worth trying, and it tastes like a big brother to the Marlboro product. Except you know what's in it.

                  - Jeff
