!@#$ Sagedil Tried to Kill Me!!!

I just got the tin of Elyxir he sent me, and he put bowling alley wax in the tin!?!? I'm not sure if I should try it :^P

Seriously, this is some bizarre smelling stuff. I actually kind of like the smell, but I'm not sure about it being in a food product :^D I'm going to hold off trying it, as I have a pris of Grov in, and I want to wait until I can judge it on it's stimulant characteristics. I'm fairly resistant to stimulants, so I want to give it the best opportunity to work it's magic.

Thanks a lot for your kind generosity Sage, and I'll be posting my review later :^)

      Nothing. That's Elyxir's natural smell(I'm assuming :^D). Weird stuff. We'll see later if it's reputation's deserved ;^)

oh ok...lol i didn't get the sarcasm never having smelled it before. I've heard people doing funky stuff like using wax to seal stuff.

LOL, I was afraid to look until I saw it was you that posted it.

Wait until first thing in the morning, then pop one in. You should be tired enough the taste won't really matter, and then just see if it doesn't quickly make you feel SO much better.

Truly looking forward to your review. I got Xobeloot to try and like it last year. Just wanna make sure the top three posters here are on board.

And yeah, that is it's natural state.

Alright, I was feeling a little sleepy so I popped in an Elixyr, and I'm writing this as I go.

The portions are the typical V2/Rebel style. Kind of flat, and seemingly a little under filled.

The taste :^O It's almost pleasant at first, but turns very bitter, and makes me shudder if I suck on the portion. It's kind of lemon limey, and very medicinal. It seems to lose flavor fast which is a glorious blessing :^D Now that the flavor's diminished, sucking on it hard gives an almost minty flavor in the background. A bit of wintergreen and perhaps some camphor??

I don't know if it's in my head or what, but I'm feeling a little "off". I don't know that I'd say awake; It's more like a light buzz, a little fuzzy headed perhaps.

I may update this later if my impression changes, but I think I can recommend this for the experience only. Sage swears by it's waking ability, but I'm not convinced. It's definitely unique, and perhaps those that are chasing a nicotine buzz will benefit from it. It's cheap enough, so you won't go broke buying it, and it might be a good morning snus for some. I think I'll stick with my coffee and Grov though. I think they make for a much happier morning :^D

            Edit:
I'm definitely feeling a bit buzzed. It's kind of like a nicotine high where you feel loosy goosy, and kind of relaxed. I'm not sure about power and energy, but it does something :^D

Thats one of the best reviews I've ever read. Good job.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

caffeine is not energy, caffeine can only keep you awake.

this product was clearly aimed at newbie snus users, i would bet money that elixyr is a one time order for the people that are dumb enough to order it in the first place. it's coming to a point where it's not even about the tobacco anymore, and it saddens me

At the very least, please try it in the morning, first thing as well.
I have never really tested these during the day, other than my MSF course situation.

Morning, the feeling just feels right...at least to me. but i would be VERY interested in your reaction as well.

Yeah lxskllr, great review. I ordered one can on the recommendation of sage (of course... Who else touts this stuff? Lol). Currently half the can is back in my freezer. I think I've posted this elsewhere, but again, my first impression was absolute disgust. It came out of my mouth within 5 minutes the first time -- I was horrified. But sage was never misleading in ever suggesting it's a tasty snus, so I took it for what it is. Then I found myself oddly drawn to it for a week or so, and now, after a little time with it, I have all but retired half the can. Its not what I'm looking for in the morning, to be sure. Like you lxskllr I prefer a nice pris or portion of grov or skruf or something stronger and tastier with strong coffee in the morning.

It does, however, have its pick-me-up advantages for when I'm feeling sleepy on a saturday and have promised friends to go hang out. From my experience though, beware of potential allergic reactions. This is probably just me, but one time I put two in to really get myself going, and within minutes had a very swollen, puffy lip and intense tingling in my mouth. I agree with lxs's identification of camphor or something similar... Its almost numbing to me in a very weird way. I do suggest it to anyone simply for the novelty and experience, but I think it will take me a good while to finish it off. I can say without hesitation that it beats phantom blue portions and a few others (PPs favorite) by a longshot, despite the musty, tangy, fart-like quality to the flavor. The most noticeable effect I got from it was one workday when I got up at an unreasonable hour to go run a few miles, and halfway thru I noticed an unmistakable burst of energy.

All things considered, though, I doubt this brand will ever find a bigger fan than our resident portion king, mr. Sage to the D. I. L. The sage of portion snus. You should carry a staff and wear robes and tunics and shit. And baptize noobs with blessings of snus juice. Keep that spreadsheet up sage, you are post-whoring your way to the top! and thanks for all the great advice. You certainly keep the new crowd warmly welcomed and well informed... End of ball-stroke.

My favorite review ever is Xobe's V2 Moonshine review. (around the middle of the page)

Partially for the actual review, and partially because of the actual product being reviewed. And you can't forget the fact that it ended up being a positive review in the end

Oh sage you didn't hear? Your status got changed back to newbie lol...I fear for the world when the morons are in charge...oh wait it's already there

Not that I think anybody could really be called an "expert" per se. Just because this is to some degree or another a matter of personal taste. But someone who has tried a lot of things would certainly be MORE qualified than someone who has not. Take the Cigar man "The General" I certainly do not agree with a lot of things he has said but if he recommends a product i will go and give it a try. If I hate it I certainly would not call him an idiot, because he has been doing it for SO long and has developed a high sense of taste for cigars.

I guess my point in saying this is that if we are going to call someone a Moron or a Newbie or any other derogatory remarks for recommending something you might want to 1) consider their qualifications in making the comment and 2) Consider your own.

I like elyxir, rather the effects, the taste is short lived.

I find myself wanting tea with my snus.
