I got my shipment in with Camel Original portions and Camel white portions!!!!!
I smoked Camel's for over 20 years so I was excited to see an authentic Swedish style snus come around and I ordered me a can of original and white.
My package came today and I grabbed it out of the mail dudes hands and ripped into it like a fiend.
Ok, on to the product.
The can:
They are plastic, but they look really cool. The flip top is painted with a metallic paint. I thought they may be metallic based on the picture but they are still really cool.
The snus:
It is definitely a traditional snus with a heavy Bergamot smell coming from it. The original portions have a slight ammonia odor to it. It wasn't bad at all, just smelled very fresh.
The white portions were more muted yet still have a very strong Bergamot odor.
White Portion:
The tobacco is very moist inside the pouches with a little juice leaking through. Most white portions I have seen are completely dry. The material is very nice and felt good in my mouth.
The flavors were very mellow and after about 15 minutes the flavor kicked in. I kept it in for about 2 hours and the flavor was still nice at that point.
Original Portion:
Holy macaroni salad this is moist! There was a portion stuck to the lid when I opened it and you could see the sweet sweet tobacco juice residue on the lid.
It is very strong smelling with a slight ammonia flavor upon opening.
The portions are very moist as I mentioned so you get a shot of flavor right away as you pop it in.
I had the original in for about 2.5 hours as I held a meeting and the flavor was still nice after that point.
Nicotine:
Northerner.com lists them as "Average level" and I agree. I use mini's or normal 8mg portions and it was just fine. I didn't notice anything different nicotine wise from the GB #2 that I use all the time.
Final thoughts:
It shares a lot with 1847 (smell) Lucky Strike (Bergamot flavor) and Pall Mall (Portion feel, flavor)
If you like any of the above, you will like this new brand/flavor.
As mentioned elsewhere, the price at northerner.com is pretty nice too! $2.88 per can.
One downside is that the white portions are 24 portions, but only 20g of content.
