I still have difficulty understanding the logic behind RJR developing two different products like this. I wonder if they can sell the SNUS in the EU, since it really isn't a traditional snus.
Those tins do rock, and they do look metal to me. Not sure though

JTI returns US rights to RJ Reynolds
15-Jan-2006
US tobacco firm RJ Reynolds has bought back the North American duty-free distribution rights to several brands from Japan Tobacco International (JTI), which inherited them when it bought Reynolds' international business in 1999
Translation:
Reynolds America Inc (RAI) only has the North American rights to the Camel name and trademark.
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) owns the International rights to the Camel name and trademark
Camel Snus from America has absolutely nothing to do with Camel Snus from Sweden.
JTI bought Gallaher Snus AB aka JTI Snus AB so that's who is making Swedish Camel Snus.
The LD Black can looks almost identical to the Swedish Camel Snus can which is made of plastic.

Not metal, JTI is using the same cans they use for LD and used to use for Gustavas.
Both BuySnus and SnusCENTRAL have the Swedish Camel Snus for sale. I knew it was coming but still had a heart attack when I saw Camel Snus on our website!
Reynolds has absolutely nothing to do with Swedish Camel Snus. JTI owns the Camel brand name overseas and are marketing the Swedish Camel Snus.
You will notice the product descriptions on both BuySnus.com and SnusCENTRAL.com are vague to the point of being useless. That's because the Camel Snus showed up ahead of schedule. My samples are somewhere between Sweden and Texas. The team in Sweden has been running around frantically and hasn't even had time to try the Camel Snus yet.
That being said, I do have a call into JTI and will be talking to them at Tobacco Plus Expo 2009 in New Orleans next week. To the Member who hoped it tasted like Camel Mellow, one thing I can tell you about the taste is that the Swedish Camel Snus tastes NOTHING like ANY flavor of Camel SNUS made by Reynolds.
It is also manufactured in Sweden to Swedish Food Standard Regulations unlike American Camel SNUS which is made only to RJ Reynolds profit specifications.
I'll be publishing an article on SnusCENTRAL.org later today with what I know at that point. I'll also be blogging and especially tweeting updates directly from Tobacco Plus Expo next week and Swedish Camel Snus will most certainly be included.
So to summarize, the cans look cool once you get over the Camel name, the product bears absolutely no relationship or similarity to American Camel SNUS, and more info to follow.
Well I just placed an order on snuscentral for 2 cans each of the Camel original and white portions. I also picked up 2 cans of the taboca strong mini. I wish I knew what the nic content was in those mini's. I never tried toboca either so hopefully it's not bad. I also threw in a roll of thunder frosted because I love that stuff. With the first time customer discount code snuscentral had a way better price than buysnus after shipping and everything. Never used snuscentral before so hopefully they have decent shipping times.

Thanks for your order! Yes, we do have excellent shipping times and customer service. If someone disappoints me, they are forced to use Camel Frost for 24 hours. They never make a mistake again! 8)
I believe the nic on the Taboca mini's is 6mg but I could be wrong. I can tell you they ARE metal cans and very attractive! I received them in my order yesterday but haven't had a chance to try them yet.
Also received a roll of Thunder Frosted; isn't it great? My Camel samples are in-transit too so it will be interesting to see how they taste.
I hope it is a distinct flavor. Something a little different from Gustavus or LD. But I like both of those....so my hopes are high. I smoked Camels for 20 years. I also collected all the Camel crap...coolers, ashtrays, mugs, beach towels etc....It is all sealed up in storage. I even have unopened packs when Camel was making a box for each state. Maybe this crap will be worth something someday.
Mr. UNZ, what is the flavor like? Does it have a Turkish tobacco flavor like the old Camel cigarettes? I'm hoping so, since I loved the flavor of Camel cigarettes before they were redesigned with more additives to reach the younger smoking demographic that can't appreciate strong, Turkish tobacco.
It is also manufactured in Sweden to Swedish Food Standard Regulations unlike American Camel SNUS which is made only to RJ Reynolds profit specifications.
You're all over the internet spouting off conspiracy theories about camel snus... and it's hilarious.

I have to say, I have ordered from Northerner and Snuscentral and I received my Snuscentral order in 4 business days (all the way to FL). Northerner has taken a week the first time and it is up to 6 days for my most current order.
The Bag O' Snus thing on Snuscentral is nice and cheap. I bought three cans and they ended up being General White, General Sterk and Roda Lacket portions. Good for the money!
Getsnus has the best delivery, just the smallest selection.
This is so rediculous. This is why I can't handle believing anything in the bible, they are constantly revising it and changing the wording of it. In...
