    Ettan...opinions

I tried an Ettan original portion today...wow this is some good stuff. I was so surprised by the taste. I heard how it is has the longest history in snus, and has not changed much, if at all during the past century(except going to portions). Because of this, I assumed it would taste quite plain, and like tobacco...which would be great fro me because I love the taste of tobacco. But to my surprise, it smelled and tasted like tobacco and chocolate! I mean if they labeled it chocolate snus, I would say they nailed it. Its not a gross sweet coca taste though, more of a subtle dark coca. The salt is extremely low, much different than general. I think that I will really enjoy the rest of the portions, and will be buying more in the future.

ettan was how I broke in to the snus world, and I absolutely agree about the chocolately taste.

It was perfect for starting out, but I ordered a whole roll and got through 4 cans before I didn't want to see another ettan can again. I still don't.

It certainly has it's place, as I didn't like any of the general offerings. Like you say, it was certainly different.

When I first got Ettan, I hated it. It just had a really dull, stale flavor to it. So I stuck it in the freezer, and after about 15 other cans of snus, I went back to it. Found it delicious, almost nutty. Now I'm about to get the los, and I can't wait. I just think the flavor would be so much better in los.

this is what im scared of with alot of the snus I like now....in the future I bet my taste will change to something else and the ones I enjoy now, I won't then. Hope this is not the case!

I'm yet to try los, but when I do, it will defiantly be a can of general and Ettan.

Maxpower, best way to not lose a snus you really like is don't overuse it. Two + years in now, I have learned that if I use a snus I like too much, soon the flavor turns on me and I no longer care for it. Took me a long time but I finally developed a stable of about 20 different ones I like, maybe 10 that I really, really like. I keep so much snus on hand so I can always switch up day to day.

And Ettan was my first snus ever. I don't love it, but it will always be a sentimental favorite.

I have to say sage, that you have some of the best tips on here. Thats a really good idea...I have about 6 different brands on hand so I'll switch between them rather than using 1 at a time, which I planned to do. That way I'll still enjoy my general in the future. Good advice!

I carry 3-4 tins daily with me to the office, just so I can swap out during the day. I like the variety. As for Ettan, I love it. I first noticed the chocolate undertones while drinking it with a really dark roast coffee that I like, and it was like BAM..chocolate. Loved it ever since, and just like coffee and my smoking went together...now coffee and Ettan go together!

Yeah I have to try the ettan with coffee in the morning. I've been using general original or white with coffee, which is fantastic. But any chocolate flavor with coffee is amazing. can't wait to try it!

Coffee and tobacco are just made for one another. I loved cigarettes and coffee, but snus goes even better. But for alcohol...I'll have to stick with cigarettes. Snus gets me sick with beers...idk why. Too much nic, I guess. Maybe in time though!

Same thing happened to me, loved it, ordered a roll made through about 3-4 cans before I couldn't stand it anymore.

Ettan has been a favorite of mine since the very beginning. I lost my taste for the portions, but the loose is my daily brand. I adore the stuff.

That's not to say I don't use other brands sometimes for a little variety, but the majority of what I use these days is Ettan.

Ettan is in my top 3. I keep a can in the fridge almost constantly. Liek Sage said don't overuse a snus. I used 3 cans of Knox consecutively , now I can't stand Knox. So my rule now is one can and switch!

I have just been doing this for a long time. Have learned some lessons the hard way, and like to share whatever I have learned.

When i was only dipping I was pretty much a one brander and would every once in a while pick up something different for a flavor twist. Ettan loose has become my copenhagen. I keep a good mix of others to keep it mixed up but my nice comfy evenings are ettan filled

Ettan lös was my first can to go empty, I didn't notice the chocolate flavor, just a pretty mellow snus that made a nice pris.

Grov will probably be my second can to go empty, followed by kanel extra sterk.

Onico will be for a nic free break, tastes like a good tea, and can be helpful for cutting down on vitamin N uptake. this will probably end up in the freezer.

Back to Ettan, I really like it because of its moisture content and the size its cut to.
