Want to add to my Favorite Standby's

    Well,

Its been a while since I have posted or been on the forum. Still use snus though. I also see a few more people from Wisconsin (welcome to the world of snus).

Since transforming to snus almost a year ago, I have tried many different brands. I have made mistakes and ordered rolls of a couple I just couldn't stomach and didn't order enough of a brand and flavor that knocked my system to the next generation.

I have been and still am a Skruf Stark fan. Also Cannot imagine being without my N & J reg portions. With that being said and Swedish Match coming to US I am wondering about General Extra Strong, How it compares Skruf Stark and Nick and Johnny? Does it go bitter? Flavor? Is it a portion you can keep in for hours as I normally do?

I like the strong portions as I just use less and stay satisfied longer.

Also interested in your views of Claq Qui Strong Portion.

    Thanks, Phil

Hey Phil, personally I can't give insight as to the staying power of Gen ES. I typically use it first thing in the morning, for about 30-40 minutes. To me, the flavor and peppery quality of it are sometimes a bit much (strong), and I imagine there have only been a few occasions where I have kept the portion in for more than 1 hour. mercrvis (not spelled right, sorry merc) should be able to give you some advice on this, as I know that he sleeps with those suckers in. As far as Skruf and N&J, those are both two of my favorites as well, and in comparing them with General ES, I would say that for me, the flavor and nic content of General ES is substantially stronger and therefore I don't keep the portion in nearly as long as when I use the other two.

But don't get me wrong. Order some of the the Gen ES. It's good stuff, and serves an unbeatable function of strong and quick (very quick) nic hit for a portion snus. Hope this helps. ~ Roo.

I think the general extra strong is a bit caustic.

It's too much to use all the time for me.

I prefer Skruf stark or Claq qui.

Buy a can and try it. The extra is pretty good. The portions are a wee bit bigger too.

I second the Claq Qui. Great stuff.

I also recommend you try some Claq Qui. It's a very nice partner to N&J portions in that it's sweeter whereas N&J is saltier. It's the yin to N&Js yang.

Right Thunder, great stuff. Really great los and above average portions.

General Ekstra Sterk delivers a strong nicotine kick similar to smoking a cigarette. However, there is also a very bitter flavor that occurs after 30 minutes that is almost intolerable for me. I wish SM would refine the flavor to make it more subtle.

General Ekstra Sterk is my 2nd favorite snus. Mainly because it's too strong for round the clock usage. The portions for me last 2-3 hours.

Claq Qui is strong enough but I'm still not a fan of the taste, but I like it more than I did when I first started them.

It just comes down to personal taste.

I find Claq Qui to be quite strong tasting. It's a 20 minute snus for me. Can't tolerate it much longer than that, but I beat up snus.

If you want some Claq Qui and some extra Skruf Stark, I just made a post in the snus exchange.

Sorry for advertising it here, but this forum gets more traffic and it is sort of on topic :P

My insides can't handle the strong stuff

Humph, GES is my favorite. I put one first thing in the morning (0630 or so) and it does not come out until 0930-1000. I do alternate with something else most days but the GES is my constant companion and I vary the second can. Never had a problem with it tasting bitter either.

If you like the N&J original, I would definitely get some Claq Qui, those are my two mainstay portions, start to really get worried if I get below a couple cans of each. Like to mix it up with several other portion flavors for the varied taste, but those two just hit the spot at the moment for my portion use.
For me, the General Extra Sterk just didn't meet the flavor I was expecting, prefer originals for classic General flavor (lös is much better tho)
I'll also second (third, whatever) the Thunder recommendation, while not a mainstay, I'll probably include in future orders, MUCH better than what I expected from a V2 portion. Think the Frost might be a real winner from what I've heard, on my next must try list.

                            Kerprodo,

How long have you been using Claq Qui and do you like the Roda Lacket whites, they just didn't seam to have it for me, while the los was just ok. I think I am going to order a few cans as I do very much enjoy Nick and Johnny.

As far as the V2 portions, I just am uncertain.

                              Thanks for your responses!

Swedish Match has 2 more Hits.

Clac Qui and General Ekstra Sterk have joined my rotation with Skruf Stark and Nick and Johnny.

Thunder Frosted, very flavorful, very unique nicotine delivery that you almost don't even notice, nice burn, lasts and lasts. V2 has gotten this one down.

Now I need to try the GES los. Hopefully that will fit in my los rotation with my Ettan.
