I've always had one of the two local suppliers a few miles away, so I'm a little spoiled. I'm happy for all of you guys who have that option now.

I contacted both Market Patches in Seattle today. They don't have loose in yet. I was really tired today so I didn't do anything about it at the time, but I think the guy might have overcharged me (I paid $8 for a can of General Dry Mini Mint which I bought to entice new snusers). The product wasn't stickered yet, so I'm hoping for the sake of their success rate that the actual retail price is more reasonable. I think that SM should encourage their retailers to be sure to prominently display their General Fridges though. Otherwise, how will people know that it's available?

Anyway, for you folks in Seattle, the guys at Market Patch all seem pretty cool. They have a lot of different stuff to check out.

Got three cans at $4.50 a piece, more than I usually spend but was out of General los anyway. The great thing was I grabbed a few of the foil lined free samples.

<------Is wintergreen with envy :x The closest thing to snus in the uk is chewing tobacco, not dipping tobacco, I'm talking about really old stuff, black irish/pigtail or whatever - Samuel Gawith sell it. And thats only in a handful of tobacconists in the uk. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole myself.

            Conversation:

Raddleman: Hi there, do you sell snus?

Tobacconist: No, but we sell several varieties of mouth cancer, if that interests you.

Raddleman: Interesting concept. And I, like, have to pay YOU money for this?

Tobacconist: Yeh, its real quality carcinoma. We have the full metastatized label, or the standard jaw-removal with 6 months of acute depression variety.

Raddleman: Hmm, call me a picky Nicky, but I'll stick with "At or beyond average life expectancy", it's a great snus, I buy it from Sweden.

            Tobacconist: *murmurs under breath- Weirdo*

Raddleman, in the event that snus does become legal for domestic sales in the UK Toque is ready to go. Same flavors as the snuff too, according to them.

1 block away from my office? What a dream come true! I asked the owner several months ago if he had heard of snus, and showed him some. He was mystified.

That would be sweet. I guess I should be thankful that at least we can buy nasal snuff in the uk. How did you find out about toque and snus in the uk?

Well, I think that British chewing tobacco looks very tasty. Tobacco would never have gotten a bad name in general if people had continued to use their traditional chewing tobacco instead of cigarettes. Forget the cancer-propaganda, it just doesn't apply for oral tobacco, it has even nothing to do with tobacco specifically. Carcinogenic substances are a byproduct of the burning. They are almost always generated, no matter what kind of substance gets burned.

So much also to our friends who think that it is less dangerous to smoke pot (for example) than to smoke tobacco. With all the anti-tobacco-propaganda it's easy to believe, but it's certainly not true. Hell, I even once visited a Swiss drug-users-forum while searching for snus-infos and the people there thought that heroin, ice, speed, crack etc. was less dangerous than snus. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that thread, but it was in German language, no chance that I only misunderstood something and the people didn't even sound as if they were totally stoned at the moment they posted. So much also about where all the anti-tobacco-bogus-propaganda leads to. It's weird!

But yes, snus is at least better for the teeth than sugary chewing tobacco and snus is generally the superior product, regarding the long time-usability. Chewing tobacco is less usable for addicts like me, who need nicotine all day long, but it's a nice alternation.

                    Cheers!

Thanks for the post. Yeah maybe I was being a bit facetious, but what about TSNAs in chew? Also don't really like the idea of spitting. . That Swiss story is funny, just shows how ignorant some people can be.
