Until the day comes that I can't, that is my plan. Besides, other than Oynx, I don't use General, I don't use much of Swedish Match at all really.

Granit, and Gustavus are both better than General imo. I also like LD, but the citrus in that is bolder than the previous 2.

I was wondering about Granit and Gustavus. I will be sure to order some of these.

I only use los at home. Los is defiantly my preference.

Portions are a whole nother animal.

It's General ES or Claq Qui first thing in the morning. I can't seem to get nic fast enough in the morning with los.

I love Gustavas too but it can be a touch crumbly, at least for the first ten or so minutes. Some would disagree with me but Phantom Blue los is tops, so is the esteemed Gotlandssnus Gul.

Yup! Me too. This is going to be great for raising awareness of snus in the US as an alternative to smoking.

But I prefer my snus sans taxation, and will be getting it that way until Uncle Sam slams the door on it.

Oh, and if you like the 'General' flavor, you'll like Gotlandssnus yellow. Better even, in my opinion.

I'm sure you guys already know, there is a law in the works that Bush never signed, but Obama will for sure.

Internet tobacco sales will go bye bye.

Actually, that law never passed congress. And from everything I understood, it wouldn't stop "internet" sales, just sending through the USPS. Private carriers could still deliver. The ostensible reasoning is there is no way to age verify through the USPS.

So if I can still get via UPS, no real big issue for me. Adds a bit to the cost sure, but I am still saving over 50% compared to when I smoked.

And <if> the law ever makes it through and gets signed, I am sure it won't be effective immediately, so we should all have any time we need to prepare

Ditto. I'd be ordering at least a year's supply in one shot if it came to pass.

I would think if it came down to not being able to order via Internet, I would hope we would still have the option of the old fashioned telephone call or via catalog. I would certainly be willing to get up at what ever odd hour and make an international call to continue to order Snus from Northerner or whoever. Unless they imposed an embargo on Swedish products like they do on certain Cuban products, I would think we would still be able to order that way. I would try at least if it comes down to that.

I thought that I read the law as no parcel carrier or the USPS would be able to deliver tobacco until the taxes for them were paid. Here is a part of the bill:
(1) IN GENERAL- Except as provided in paragraph (2), no delivery seller may sell or deliver to any consumer, or tender to any common carrier or other delivery service, any cigarettes or smokeless tobacco pursuant to a delivery sale unless, in advance of the sale, delivery, or tender--

`(A) any cigarette or smokeless tobacco excise tax that is imposed by the State in which the cigarettes or smokeless tobacco are to be delivered has been paid to the State;

`(B) any cigarette or smokeless tobacco excise tax that is imposed by the local government of the place in which the cigarettes or smokeless tobacco are to be delivered has been paid to the local government; and

`(C) any required stamps or other indicia that such excise tax has been paid are properly affixed or applied to the cigarettes or smokeless tobacco.

`(2) EXCEPTION- Paragraph (1) does not apply to a delivery sale of smokeless tobacco if the law of the State or local government of the place where the smokeless tobacco is to be delivered requires or otherwise provides that delivery sellers collect the excise tax from the consumer and remit the excise tax to the State or local government, and the delivery seller complies with the requirement.

OK, so they want to make sure they get their taxes, I can deal with that. Sounds like it is set up to allow Buysnus or such to collect the tax first. So my snus goes up in cost, I'm still saving money compared to smoking.
