The ad says it comes in a polished box. Mine came in a rather rough finish. Maybe they skipped the polishing to get them out.

Mine was kinda finished.
I'll probably pull out the sandpaper and finish it up - it's not a bad box overall and I'm sure I can find a use for it.... -
I would say smooth sanded, and oiled(French polish). It smells like linseed oil on the inside.Comment

not really over the top sanded still rough and oiled. I'm gonna leave mine the way it is.

I've only used a bit of it. I use it almost exclusively at night with a cup of coffee. I don't want to rush through it, and I expect to still have some come summer.Comment
