Regardless, it does not seem snus is a high priority concern for themThe Public Health Regulations of 2008 do not require health warnings on smokeless tobacco products. The previous regulations – the Public Health Regulations of 1999 – prohibited the import of snus and chewing tobacco. This provision does not appear in the Public Health Regulations 2008. Although snus and chewing tobacco are not yet available in Mauritius, the law should be amended to either a) reintroduce the prohibition on importation of snus and chewing tobacco, or b) require health warnings on smokeless tobacco products, in accordance with FCTC Art. 11 and the FCTC Art. 11 Guidelines.When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did.......
