I guess I should count myself lucky that I have never dealt with Northerner...

I hope you guays get your issues resolved. I suggest MaKe Webo for your future transactions.

I easily made 2 orders on a weekly basis with Getsnus. I also remember all the General snus merchandise, I have the rubber coasters, some ink pens, the beanie and the general Onyx canister thingy.

Also it was cheap to buy a just released can, instead of having to wait to place a big order to try it.

Those were the good ole days.

Too bad the site was set up just to pull us in, thinking that this is how it’s going to be for a long time (that’s what I thought anyways.)
I think it's important to note that in those good ol' days, Getsnus was its own entity, and they did things their own way (which was incredible as you point out). Northerner then bought the company and quickly eliminated some of these perks, and of course others were limited by PACT.

It doesn’t seem like much but when you’re burning bridges between multiple consumers like northerner is doing, it makes a huge dent into the profits. I know for a fact that I’m a very small consumer compared to some of you guys on this forum.

I think that is it for my rant!!!
Damn dude that is a lot of snus! $150 per month, at $4 per can is 1.25 cans per day. You must have been stocking up a lot? Or maybe you're Swedish

I'll say this about Northerner, orders do take an age but they make sure you get your snus eventually (at least in my experience)

Yea, they aren't scammers. I'd just like to see them put more attention in to getting things right so there aren't problems. A small investment in computer infrastructure would eliminate most of the problems. Scan snus in, and it automatically updates the website. Snus gets bought on a first paid basis. If they snus isn't available at payment time, it should be rejected, and people given an opportunity to decide how to proceed. That would handle the OOS issues. Then, just ship the product quickly. It just doesn't seem that hard to me.

I agree with all of that. Also, what's stopping Northerner opening a warehouse in Norway, for EU customers?

Could be taxes. If they had to pay tax on products stored, it could really boost prices. Norway's tobacco tax is very high.

Ah yes I hadn't thought of that. Also I suppose setting up a warehouse anywhere when the situation is the EU is quite fluid doesn't make much sense from a business perspective.

They did try this once I seem to recall quite a few years ago but the concept failed. I'm think it was around Customs issues with Norway not being in the EU.

They are not scammers. But they tend to go through periods of corporate panic before resuming business as usual.

I am very unhappy about the condition of the snus I ordered last time round - 2 of the rolls have an expiration date of tomorrow - and the way it has been stored and transported means that it all tastes very stale and weird. I will attempt to raise it with them, but to be honest I need snus whatever the condition it comes in so will be using it and cannot wait another month for more rancid snus to turn up even if they do something about it!

The fact of the matter is for us in the UK unless we want to buy Odens products - there is no (non-pimp) avenue left for us at all apart from Northerner ... and my suspicion is that they know this and behave accordingly.

                      Cheers

Never buying from them again. My order came a week and a half later than it was supposed to (I used the 2day rush delivery option), and they only offered a measly 10% discount on my next order for my trouble.

Once upon a time there was a possibility that you could reasonably expect at least neutral service from them, they have got the incompetence levels way up now, way to go champs! It is amazing how so many customers are coming down with sudden onset retardation! I remember when it was just a select few of us here! Those were the days. Elephants never forget.................Just sayin.....

15 days and still pending. Below is their "reason". They are not thieves. What do you call it when someone tells you the goods are in stock but their not.... then hold your money for at least two weeks? I cannot tell you of any other time a business has done anything like this to me. Their reply sounds more like one might send to a fellow employee not a customer. It blows my mind. I will wait the order out just to see how long it takes them to send it. Seems to me their programmer would have fixed the in stock problem before they went live with the site... but then I guess that would make too much sense. I am baffled..............

Due to the fact that we have more than one warehouse the stock value shown on the site can not be specified I'm afraid. This unfortuantely means that the instock value might be pulled from another warehouse than the one you ordered from. We are looking into if there is a way to seperate the warehouse stock values, but at the time there isn't I'm afraid.

We are sorry about the delay on your order it will be shipped as soon as the odens in your order is back instock again.

                            Have a nice day!

                            With best regards,

So why do they even display "in stock" or "out of stock" at all?? Holy shit is anyone using their brains at all over there? Maybe this is just beyond my understanding of webpage design... if not that is truly baffling. Like going to a restaurant's website at 10AM and it says "currently open, come on down!" so you go there and they are closed, then you are later told "oh that part of our website where it says 'we are currently open, come on down' doesn't work, we are hoping to one day make that part work...." Except at this hypothetical restaurant you pay before walking down to the restaurant that is in fact closed.

I understand stuff happens but they can at least offer to mail you a few free cans of your choice to hold you over while you are waiting for your order.
