    Anyone still dippin'

Does anyone still use dip from time to time?
I am an ex-smoker now. When I was try to make the switch from smoking tobacco to smokeless tobacco, before I discovered snus, I used american dip. I am pretty much snus 90% of the time, but sometimes I still get a hankerin' for dip, and use a pinch of Copenhagen long cut. I have stopped using the lower lip for dip, and instead place a pinch of cope in my upper lip. It works really nice.

Yep, I still dip, but I've not received my snus order yet. My favorite right now is Redman fine cut natural. It has a nice mequite smoke flavor that reminds me of cooking prime cut steak on an open grill. I do like the cope longcut too, but not the price.

If you get a chance, pick up the redman fine cut and let me know what you think. I know that fine cut can be a hassle, but I've never had a sickness problem with this, even swallowing the bits. The little pieces that escape your pinch and get all over your mouth just adds to the flavor for me.

I always have some dip and some chew on-hand. Right now, I have a can of Skoal peach, Skoal Apple, and a 1lb bag of Stokers chew. I dont use it very often, but I use it nonetheless.

Do you upper lip your dips? I know it's sacreligous (sp) among the dipping croud, but I enjoy that better than lower lip, especially if you use a fine cut snuff. Just my .02

Sidenote: I like copenhagen, but boy that stuff is hard on the wallet. I feel bad for the guys that go through a can a day of that stuff. I understand that redman is made buy a swedish match company, and has low TSNA's. I will have to get a can.

I like to dip. I actually like it better than snus. the only thing better about snus than dip is its easier to deal with as far as taking the portion out of your mouth, you don't have to brush your teeth or spit. Otherwise, I was snussing all weekend, and last night put in a pinch of Skoal Straight. Man, I love! that stuff. Just has a wonderful taste to it. I also like Peach and some natural dips. Have yet to try the redman. I have some longhorn though, and tried Grizzly snuff too.

I don't upper-deck my dip. Front/center lower lip whether it be long or fine cut. Pack out my cheek if im usin chew. I typically just pull real hard on my dip for the forst couple mins to get a couple good dark spits and then I have no need to spit after that.

I dip when I am out of snus and waiting on the first of the month when payday comes so I can order more.. I hate it. It sucks. Tastes awful.. but I can't let myself go back to cigarette smoking.

Redman fine cut is pretty freaking awesome if you have to use dip in the meantime.. but Skoal Edge??? Tastes like listerine. Was on sale for 2 bucks at the store. Its gonna get thrown out soon. Redman fine cut is the only dip I can tolerate. Don't go with the long cut though, its a weak weak tasting wintergreen.

Bonzai, do you ever use loose snus? I know the flavor is of course different than dip but IMO much cleaner. My personal favorite is the Gotlandssnus Gul, not the easiest to hand-bake but I use a three ml syringe with the tip cut off (poor man's Icetool) and it stays put for hours.

Yes, I have bunches of loose snus around here. A sampler pack from Northerner and some cans of Roda Lacket, Ettan and Gotlands in addition to it. I am finding the portions taste more than the loose. Its lunch time and I am splurging with a pinch of Skoal Straight right now. I use the snus some, but tastewise, its just not there for me... don't know why. I will say that after dipping Ettan and Grov, I found Gotlands Yellow more tasty. I have yet to open my Roda Lacket loose or my other nine tins in the freezer. I believe there is Probe Whiskey, General etc, Prima Fint, etc... you know the ten pack.

I have an icetool and also a prismaster and a syringe. The icetool is ok, but a bit heavy. The syringe looks too druggy. The prismaster is nice, but I am opting for the icetool right now as I have paid so much for it. It does a good job. So does the Prismaster.

I don't like the snus to stay put for hours because it looses its taste. When I finally take it out, I find the good taste is on the 'inside' of the snus. It doesn't seem to migrate to the outside. So it has to be moved around to get all the taste. But if you do that, you are in the same predicament as with loose snuff. So...... I love it all. I use them all (that I like the taste of).... This dip of Skoal Straight is not making me spit either, don't know why.......

well i dont dip anymore. the only time i dip is when i don't have snus and i'm really desperate.

                      my favorite dip/chew is:

                      1. grizz lc wg
                      2. kodiak lc wg/ice
                      3. good money twist
                      4. h.b. scott's private blend chew
                      5. timberwolf wg wolf packs

but yet again. i like snus better

I was at my in-laws last weekend and saw that my my brother-in-law had a huge bag of dip that my in-laws got at the NASCAR races (personally I think that NASCAR is way too white trash for me, the only reason I get pissed off is because they call it a sport. So, am I engaging in a Effen sport when I drive home from work?) Back on topic.... I saw that he had a can of Longhorn wintergreen which is what I used before I started using snus. I had to have it. I yearn for a little sweet. juicy chew once in a while. I don't keep it in very long, but it is nice to have once in a while. In summary, it is yummy but only for a short period of time! Snus really does rule. Wish there was something that resembled US dip that would last a long time and be much safer. Anyone tried the new and improved American Wintergreen Offroad?

American snuff isn't as bad in regard to TSNAs as it used to be. It's pretty much on par with Swedish snus, only being slightly higher in TSNAs. If you only use it occasionally I wouldn't worry about it. Just buy what you think tastes best, and enjoy.

Now you have me craving a pinch of cope. Gonna have to wait on a customer that has some. I'm not about to spend $5 for a can just to get a pinch.
