Yeah, I still use dip from time to time. I like a lot of the Skoal varieties, apple or berry blend best. Snus is just easier and cheaper. A can of Skoal in Chicago is around $6. That's pricey!
Anyone still dippin'

I got me a can of Redman Finecut natural yesterday and have a pinch in right now. I used the prismaster. Its a little more longcut than snuff. So the prismaster worked, but not as well as it would on snuff. It cost like 1.63 or something.
Grizzly Snuff (metal lid) is very good too. Also under 2 dollars. Redman Snuff is very warm tasting. Its toasted or something. Then there's longhorn. It may be only a buck. Its good too.
I am sticking with the Swedish Match dips (Redman, Longhorn and Timberwolf) because I believe they have lower TSNAs. Not positive, but the last stuff I read on the net indicated they were the best re: TSNA's.

As far as Swedish match american dip goes... they don't really know how to do a good natural flavor. Red Man natural isn't too bad. Longhorn and Timberwolf natural are both terrible!! I think Longhorn Natural may be the worst dip I've ever had. Timberwolf natural just tastes like dirt. Their straight and mint are both very good though.

To be honest i hate nascar but it is a sport.
Its the largest spectator sport in America and the only other sport that gets more TV ratings is football.
I quit using dip completly and just use snus. The funny/cool part is here in america its seen as exotic by some. I have friends that just find it too cool to pass up because its spitless... 2 of my friends quit smoking thanks to me introducing it to them. Too bad i forgot to get them to use me as a reference on their first orders from buysnus.
And why do people refer to DIP as Chew??? You dont actually chew it. I guess you could but it would get messy. I have never heard anyone from the south refer to dip as chew.. guess its a yankee term. I mean there is chewing tobacco and then there is dip and of course snus.
And to the guy above ... what do you dip. I used Cope for over 4 years and switched to Redman as soon as it came out because it tasted as good if not better than Copenhagen Snuff, at a 1/5 of the price. And i didnt realize it was a swedish company that made it until i started using snus.

Grizzly Snuff and Redman Snuff are both quite good (just as good if not better than Cope Snuff).
He is referencing the Fine-Cut Natural. I found the natural to be quite good. My question is this: What Natural is he using as his comparison point to determine that the Redman tastes bad in comparison?

You should see my Bourbon collection.... and I could probably be just as happy with a bottle of Evan Williams Black Label.....
Collecting must be a disease or something.... but how else will you know if you don't try them?

Gotcha Bond. I was actually directing my questions towards Bastage. Bastage mentioned that the Redman Natural "wasn't too bad" but the others were terrible. I was just curious as to what brand makes a "natural" flavor that he finds good so I know where his comparison begins.
Sorry for not clarifying the direction of my questionops:

Doubt I would ever go back, but what is the consensus of the best natural dip? I ended up using mostly straight before snus, but maybe I just never had the right natural dip (never really liked any that I tried), but I really like most of my snus to have a good tobacco flavor.

Hi all, first post here.
The last time I quit smoking I started using Skoal to defeat the nicotine withdrawls but dip is just too messy and eventually I drifted back to smoking.
When I found out some stores near me were getting the Camel snus, I knew this was a good time for me to quit again. It's been about four days now, I've got some different brands ordered from buysnus, and I don't think I could ever dip again. The urge to smoke is almost completely gone, and I'm actually enjoying the Original and Spice blends. The frost is a little bit too Doublemint-y and the Spice tastes like Dentine, but the Original tastes like lemon tea, not bad! FWIW I smoked Camel non-filters or Lucky Strikes for the last twelve years, two packs a day. The nicotine doled out by the Camel Snus is adequate enough for me.
I also noticed that Snus doesn't burn my gums and lips anywhere near as bad as dip did. The first time I quit smoking I tried just about every type of smokeless available at the time; Red Man scrap chew made me want to puke, and the old time snuff brands (Peach, Railroad Mills) is pretty close to pencil shavings in terms of enjoyability. I tried all the canned dip and really enjoyed the Skoal Peach and Apple. Skoal Berry was a close third. But it really became more of a chore to use dip as the constant spitting was disgusting, even to me. You couldn't use it in a bar while you were drinking, or at a friends house ("Hey man! That's sick! Go back to smoking!"), and overall it was just more convenient to smoke if you can believe that.
But snus are great, none of that hassle. I eagerly await my shipment, the order went through wednesday so hopefully by monday I'll have me an assortment of Swedish snus in my mailbox.

Cope is cope is cope. Cope Long cut is cope. Natural is a flavor unto itself. Just like straight, or mint, etc...
IMOP, the best "natural" dips I have had are the Redman and the Grizzly. Nice and mellow, somewhat sweet, and little need to spit (even in the lower lip).
