This sounds pretty spot on!
I mean I'm not Swedish so I'm not in the statistics, but I am scandinavian though(Well, 3/4 Scandinavian at least).
But if I'm doing anything I'll usually replace my portions ever half hour. And with a prilla I'll go some 30-40 mins and then drop it, and then wait some 10 mins and put a new one in.

I am still curious to your uses of the word prilla and pris in this forum. We use/used that as slang for a snus overall, regardless if it is loose or portion. So a "prilla" is not necessarily a loose snus, nor is a "pris". However, since these words originated from very long ago, when there were no portions, I presume that is where the misunderstanding lies. I checked Swedish Wikipedia just to be sure, and they don't make any difference between portion or loose when using these expressions.

Good question. I think most slang used for snus nowadays is used only within groups of friends, that someone else wouldn't understand. For instance, we call lös-snus "bakis", which obviously derives from bak-snus, and "portis" for portion-snus. The word prilla is used every now and then, but more as a joke - dont think anyone would use that word seriously. And as for pris, I don't think it has been used since the 70s. Also, the word "buss" (which in fact means bus) was a common slang expression a couple of years ago (something my parents would say) for snus.

The common word for can is "dosa", which means "thingy", I think. This is a formal word, and used when ordering in tobacconists.

Another expression I came to think of is called "mullbänk", can't really translate that... It is when you have an unbroken can of lös-snus, which you turn upside down and open it, so that the snus is on the lid like a hockey-puck. Then you put your pinky finger across the middle, and shove half the box into your upper lip, so it spreads from left to right. Won't make you look pretty, but a nice nicotine rush.

I had not heard that rumour, but ofcourse that would not pass without a fight. My experience is that snus is so drilled into our culture that we always get exceptions.. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Transplant……………assistance from a friend when your hands are too dirty to put in the can

Zen Master…………undetected los snus during sex
Tampon…………….we all know this one………………..but we shouldn’t
Diva………………….Girl who has tried los
Diva babe…………..even better
Blowout……………..any series of unfortunate events that result in a whole can of snus being spilled
Xanadu………………putting in a fresh snus……….on a clear day……………..while on a mountain trail………………….usually sitting on a granite overlook with nothing but the rolling blue ridge mountains unfolding beneath you
