SNUS exceeding cigarette costs

I haven't ordered post-PACT as I have at least a years worth squirreled away in the deep freeze, but you might want to consider buysnus/snus central instead of getsnus/northerner. As of yet they aren't charging taxes. Of course..... as a good citizen..... I know you would be reporting it to the IRS and paying your fair share.... but for now that's your responsibility. Who knows how long they will continue to do it this way but for know it's good to go. High shipping rate but if you make a large order it's not to bad.

You're not supposed to eat the snus.

100 cans of loose and you go through that in 6 months versus only 1 pack of cigarettes a day.

Your tobacco tax is weight based, and you use loose. My suggestion is to buy a snussat and make your own.

Well, I've taken the point of not using as much snus per day (it is a very good point). Although a can doesn't last me more than 2 days tops, i used to smoke 1 to 1.5 packs a day or so, so it's about half the consumption rate. I was drinking when I went to order and made this post, that's why it seems to emotional. :P

And I've since ordered from Buysnus, so as long as it don't get caught coming overseas, we'll see if I get charged on it or not. It's strange too because that was the only site I found that actually had the General Long Sterks in stock. Oh well, sorry Getsnus, but you are no longer my go-to snus store.

For reference, Wisconsin's tobacco tax is 100% of manufacturer's cost, so it's one of the highest states here.

EDIT: By the way, sales tax is the tax that all goods are taxed on. It's a seperate tax from VAT, or the US's separate tobacco tax. So yeah, you're getting double taxed....isn't that unconstitutional in the U.S.? Getting taxed twice on the same product?

No... that's if you commit a crime and found innocent, and then latter more evidence shows up you can't be charged again for the same crime. There is no limit on how much you can be taxed.... especially for tobacco

You won't know until you try. They are not the only ones that sell a snussat (Cuthof is popular too) , but they seem to be the best judging from the time I spent on the Scandanavian forums.

If a can last 3 - 5 days then it's definitely cheaper than cigarettes.

But if you're living in Europe and consuming a can a day then it's a lot more expensive.

Actually, no, even then it works out cheaper. My middle of the road brand I used to smoke costs 4.50.-€ a packet. A can of general long costs 3.90.-€ (less now because of the promo). Aside from the fact that a can lasts me two days and change, it would be cheaper even if I used a can a day.

That said, I don't use snus because of the cost, I use it because my lungs needed a break.

If I buy a flat-pack roll of General White Portion it would cost me, including all tax and shipping, $70, which is $7 per can, and if a can lasts me 3 days, that's about $2.30 per day, and will last me a month.

A packet of 20 Marlboro in the UK is just under $10, which at a pack a day would be $300 per month.

If I smoked a budget brand at $7, that's still $210 per month.

Cigarettes in the UK are so ridiculously expensive I could double my snus usage and still save money.

This is why I'm hoping the law over here stays the same, because if snus was freely available I fear our government would tax the hell out it and make it as prohibitively expensive as smoking cigs.

Never seen cigarettes so expensive not even in Norway. (it's like $10 a pack)
