Ok, not much of a reviewer but I received some of this this morning and I'm liking it.

Same great General taste as the standard General Long portions with low drip but a noticeable higher amount of vitamin n for those that like a harder hit

Would say the nic hit comes on gradually and lastes a good time along with the taste. Had one in for an hour before I was looking for my next one

        Same boat here.
My shipment should arrive tomorrow. I'm excited to try it. I really liked the shape of the O2 portions in the two cans I tried, so I'm looking forward to it.

1 roll of General Long Sterk
        1 roll of O2
1 roll Skruf Stark White (my normal standby)
And a can each of General Sterk Loose and some Nick and Johnny Strong White.

Gonna be a real good Wednesday... The Long Sterks will be the first cracked open.

Question for people who've tried it: how is the nicotine kick compared to General Ekstra Sterk Portion? I know General Long Sterk has 14mg nicotine and GES Portion has 15mg nicotine, but I hypothesize the "less drip" formula may inhibit the absorption of some nicotine.

My Long Sterks finally arrived. I have now had about half a tin. The nic hit is surprisingly strong; seems marginally stronger than Skruf Sterk, which I also have open at the moment, and substantially stronger than General Sterk, which I ordered together with Long Sterk). The citrus is more subdued than in General Sterk, and the bergamot is less pronounced than in Skruf. The flavor profile is most similar to General Original Portion, but it's a bit less salty. All in all, a very neutral flavor, with a general feel that's similar to 02, but without the nut or almond; comfortable pouch and as expected admirably discreet. The tin is one of the most attractive ones out there. All in all, a great snus. This may become my No. 1 staple. If you like General and a strong nic hit, it is safe to order a roll even if you haven't tried it. Anyway, it's certainly much better than Skruf Sterk not only because the bergamot is over the top, but especially since SM seems to be the manufacturer with the best quality control. The nic hit seems similar to GES, but GES is a little unwieldy and - I think - too salty.

Got mine yesterday, gone through maybe 1/3 of the tin.

First off, the can is classy and gorgeous. Best can I've seen in a long time.

The portion is the same as a standard long. Thunder, 01/02, General; they all feel about the same, pouch-wise.

The flavor is somewhere between a General original, and a General extra sterk, with a lot less drip. I think both of those taste about the same, just significantly more pronounced in the ES, so it's the middle road between the two. It doesn't have the lemony-ish flavor that General Sterk has. Maybe it has something to do with it not being a white portion, I don't know. It almost tastes like it's not the normal sterk recipe, but rather a re-done recipe of the original portion. That isn't a terrible thing by any means, but it doesn't taste the same as a regular general sterk to me.

Nicotine doesn't hit me as hard as some other reviewers, so I can't give an overall strength comparison. All I can say is that it has enough to do the trick. You won't feel the need to double-barrel or anything like that.

All in all, this is one of the few non-mint like flavors I can see myself using all the time. We'll see how it goes after I finish the roll if I'm still into it, but I think I will be.

I,ve tried a lot of Snus since i quit smoking, but the two i keep coming back to are General and Ettan. These have become the Snus i enjoy regularly, Especially General. I prefer Los, but do
use portions as well. I ordered some cans of General long sterk portion and am really enjoying it. There is the same Great General taste, (less salty i think and more peppery, hint of citrus) and i really like the fit under my lip, it feels more comfortable and isn,t as runny!! Compared to General Exstra sterk portion, General long Sterk portion nicotine kick is just as strong and long lasting. The can itself looks great and i think this will be a great addition to the General family, and one i will be buying again and again.

Well they finally arrived, and i''ve gone through two cans of the General Long Sterk. Honestly, I'm just not impressed. The shape of the portion is nice; I wouldn't say I like it more than the normal portion shape, but it is comfortable to the point of easily forgetting its in my lip. But the taste, IMO, is just bland. I found myself sucking on the portion every now and then to get some flavor going.

-The can looks real sharp, one of the sharpest of SM products
-The aroma of the can is nice, if for nothing more than smelling it while snusing it to finally recognize the flavor
-No complaints with the nic factor. The buzz is there, I just can't say the same for the flavor.

In contrast, I had been meaning to buy a roll of O2 since I'd tried a can over the summer. For having the same portion shape as the GLS, I think the flavor is much more present and enjoyable. I understand the GLS is supposed to be a less drip portion, but it loses all its taste in the trade off. (And I wouldn't say I'm a drip junkie; my go to portions are Skruf Stark White) The O2 drips a lot more, but at least it tastes like something. GLS is enjoyable, but I doubt I'll buy another roll once this one is spent.

7/26/2011 EDIT: The last couple cans sat in my freezer until a few weeks ago, and at the end of the last, I was disappointed it was gone. Granted, it took all ten cans for my opinion to change on it, I have changed sides. The taste is mild, but a welcome change in my rotation. I ordered another roll yesterday, if for nothing more than to break up my routine.

Recently, I reviewed and, subsequently, fell in love with General Long Portion. As I've noted in previous reviews and articles, after going through Thunder Frosted Syndrome, I since backed down to using regular strength snus with the occasional sterk as needed. Stronger snus hasn't been my preference, but it does get some occasional use at the Snubie.com HQ, so I was looking forward to trying the latest addition to the General Long Portion family, or as I like to call this snus - General Long & Strong. As noted in previous articles, this snus is a long portion - much like the 0102 Lab Series released prior by Swedish Match. The long portion is longer and thinner and more comfortable than the regular "pillow" portion. Now, on to my review.

General Long Sterk tastes much like General Long. The flavor profile is the same, but only a little stronger nicotine kick. As I noted in my last review, "In my opinion - I think it leans closer to General Original Portion, and it's also close to General White Portion. I don't think it's as strong and zesty flavored as General Sterk is, and I don't think the flavor is as bold or overpowering as General ES. That being said, it's the General Recipe." Though I'm not a General ES user, I do use General Sterk from time to time. To answer a lot of the lingering question - does General Long Sterk taste like General Sterk? No. I find General Sterk to be very zesty and citrusy, and this doesn't have that flavor. I stand by it tasting close to General Portion/White Portion and having the classic General Recipe. Though I'm not experienced with General ES, I have used it before from time to time, and in fairness to this article, I tried a few portions just to make sure, and it does taste closer to General ES than General Sterk. Which is a bummer to me - because I love the tangy flavor of General Sterk. That being said, is this a bad snus? No. It has a comfortable portion, a great flavor, and a nice nicotine kick to it and makes a great addition to the new lineup. A mild citrus flavor with a little peppery kick thrown in and rounded out with a nice salt balance in a stronger formula makes General Long Sterk a pretty tasty little treat in my snus stash.

I've only had one portion so far so it's way too early for my impressions, so far so good.

I did notice that the can has:
Kylförvaring rekommenderas (Refrigerated storage is recommended)
                          instead of the old
Kylvara, högst +8 °C (Refrigerate up to +8°C)

I wonder how this affects long term storage on pH levels, could it be the new formulation holds up better over time?

Just received my shipment today with my fresh roll of GLS ready to try. Comments as I try it.

Looks good but slightly dry for some reason, and smells nearly exactly like General portion. I pop one in and..

nothing... I taste almost nothing so far its boring. Maybe its the long design making the taste take longer... I will wait it out. Having never used a long portion before I go pose in front of the mirror admiring my new smile without the black square over my left canine. I do like the shape, I cant wait for some Nick and Johnny long! This is taking awhile to have any flavor profile back in a bit.

Ok 15 minutes in I finally get a little taste. Tastes like a mild General Portion, its almost too mild, however I can already feel the nic hit. My staple snus is sterk whites, Nick and Johnny and Onyx so I am used to the nicotine and yet still feeling a buzz. The fact I my favorite snus'es have strong flavor profiles may have something to do with my perceived lack of flavor here.

30 minutes, still no taste! What the hell! Hmm. I find myself sucking the flavor out of it. I am bored I look for my can of N&JW

Ok my assessment of this snus.

Shape: 10 of 10 every snus should have this wonderful shape.
Taste: 5 of 10: While it wasn't bad it wasn't there either. Flavor profile a bit to weak for me. However it does not taste "bad" either. So its a neutral vote here. No powerful taste could be a plus sometimes.
Nic hit: 9 of 10 Absolutely awesome on the nicotine side of things. I use sterks for the most part and I still felt a bit warm from the nic. Very nice!
Package: 10 of 10 Probably the prettiest can on the market today.

                            Total: 8.5 of 10
Even though it tastes a bit "light" everything else about this snus is awesome. I really hope to see more long portion choices in the future.

EDIT to add: After a half day with this snus I can say it does grow on you some. I have noticed that some portions have been more flavorful than others, and the longer the portion is in the more flavor you seem to get. Seems you need to let this one mellow for about an hour in your mouth to get the full pipcture. Also as a bonus I just counted the portions I have left after using 4 portions I have 28 left! So this particular can came with 32 portions... bank error in your favor collect 4 snus

I've finally determined that of all the Generals in my stash the
General Original Long Sterk is my favorite.

The nic hit is very adequate at 14mg and seems to last quite a
while, but not as long as the flavor. It's the flavor that keeps me
satisfied enough to keep it lipped as long as possible. (If I feel
the need for more Vitamin N before the loss of flavor I'll just
sniff some snuff; at this time it's Toque Snuff.)

For me, the flavor comes on strong and peppery and lasts a good
while -- 2+ hours before I feel the need for a change. And there's
no drip unless I press down on my upper lip.

It's longness makes it more discreet than the Original and most
other varieties of snus. (For total discreetness, though, you can't
                              beat the Northerners!)

General Original Long Sterk is definitely in my daily rotation.
