I have to say once again how much I love GWG...luckily it should still be a snus that is easy to get even when this PACT BS takes effect. My only complaint is the portions ripping open. I tried the new General Mint, and didn't have any problems with those portions coming apart.

I LOVE the burn from GWG...I miss it, now that I've been using it for over a year, I don't get the burn anymore like I did in the beginning.

Have you tried Jacksobsons Wintergreen yet? Much more superior then the General.

        I would rather:

Than get anywhere near the "General Wintergreen".

I'm not a big fan of wintergreen flavor, but I don't dislike it either. If I'm going for something minty I prefer peppermint, with spearmint as a second choice. In fact, as someone else mentioned, my most frequent encounters with anything flavored with the stuff is when I have the need for some Pepto-Bismol.

But I have to admit, General Wintergreen isn't bad. The wintergreen isn't overdone, it's not too sweet, and I can still taste a little of the General signature flavor underneath it all. While it's unlikely that I'll buy a can, if I got one as a freebie, I'd probably use it up, eventually.

General wintergreen is my go to snus. This so far is the only snus i have ordered by the roll. It has a great flavor! I don't find it very sweet at all but it still has a nice wintergreen flavor. When i first started using it it did have a little burn but i don't even notice anymore if it does or not. I think Jak's wintergreen has a sweeter taste and leaves kinda like an artificial sweetener after taste. GWG doesn't leave any after taste that i can tell. I usually leave a portion of GWG in for a hour or so. One thing i notice is if i fluff a portion one of the ends tend to come open. I have had several portions come open like this. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

This seems to be an issue with the wintergreen oil? they use to flavor them - to avoid this i fluff GWG less than other portions leaving the ends unfluffed

General Wintergreen portion is my favorite snus, although I have not had any real snus except it and other General products.

Just tried it today. Never ordered a can because of all the hate this snus receives. Found a B&M store and figured since I all ready have all the other general products at home might as well pick this up.

The smell is fantastic. I'm not opposed to wintergreen and enjoy the offroad and the jak variety from time to time.

The bag are really light and fluffy. Even more so than the other general products. It's a white portion a comes in a star configuration. The first 3-5 minutes burn pretty good like the general mint. it's really sweet right away but not unbearable. After about 10minutes it mellows out considerably. It stops burning, and the sweetness subsides quite a bit.

Unlike many of the other wintergreen varieties it isn't particularly strong. The nicotine hit is nice but the flavor remains subtle and well rounded. It stays sweet and the flavor last for well over an hour. The drip is very mild and the experience over-all is quite nice. I have no dip or chew experience but it's a very american flavor. I quite enjoy it personally and will continue to use general wintergreen.

This is the one to give to american chew and dippers, they'll love it.

I am one that doesn't really like Wintergreen, never have, but I bought one of the General Trial packs which included the foil of GWG and figured what the heck. I am pleasantly surprised. It is not nearly as medicinal as I thought it would be and has more "cooling" like a mint type that real wintergreen oil does. In the past as a flavor chemist I often added a touch of wintergreen to fruit and citrus flavors to give them a lift but not enough to have a signature Wintergreen note. This may be a good portion to stick in with some others to try and "cross contaminate" to tweak the flavor a bit.

Do these still break as much as they used to? I remember a year or so ago people were complaining that they broke all the time.

                              First review for me
Can: Nice standard Swedish Match with catch lid
Smell: WINTERGREEN all the wintergreen my noise can handle
Portion: standard SM "large" kind of a middle size the baggy is very soft and comfortable for about ever( does need fluffed)

Its a little strong on the flavor BUT it isn't sweet witch is good by me. Theres noticeable salt but its not salty. IMO a 3/5 I often used as an "after dinner" but I had to force my self to kill the can. I will buy again but not soon. Of note, the portion do open easily on the end seam and it does come in the SM star pattern.

Ok, so just picked this one up today. I went to a local tobacco shop hoping for General mint (my current fave) but they were out so I grabbed a can of Wintergreen (with a coupon the nice peeps at Swedish match sent me). The Stuff smells like colgate toothpaste, which I thought was odd. And they are very moist...kind of squishy as i fluffed it. I popped one in and got that mint burn, similar to the General mint, and a quick nic hit along with it. No real cooling sensation, which I love about the General mint. The wintergreen flavor is kind of mellower than I was expecting with the scent, and not at all sweet. Not too salty either, which is a plus for me since I am a bit new to swedish snus. All in all, Snus choice number 2 for the time being, right behind General mint. A good flavor to spice it up every once in a while.
