The delivery is totally different. Sounds normal to me. Your friend just needs to get used to the new better way over time. Also, just cutting back on ciggs can make you sick. Tell your friend to keep smoking and keep trying snus and wait to judge.
Very true. Several people I've converted from smoking to snus had the same "puke" experience with 8 mg snus. Like Mr. S said, the Nicotine delivery is different from smokes. The puke feeling usually comes after about 5 to 10 minutes in the newbies I've talked to but it only lasts for a couple days, until the body get's used to it. Have your friend start with the mini white like Danielan suggested and the puking should subside.
That's very strange. I smoked ten cigarettes per day when I was a smoker and went straight to Skruf Stark and Nick & Johnny. The nicotine in those never made me nauseous. I did get a slight buzz the first time, but that was it.
tell him to try a few tic tacs for a week or so, then move on to bubble gum for a while. If he can handle that then he should probably just buy candy cigatettes and stick with that. Snus isn't for everybody. However, most men can handle it.
@sgreger........no comment at this time. but.........I'lll think of something
OK. will do. In the meantime I thought I'd post a pic of my online buddy.
He's the one who puked.
This is him from 10 years ago or so. He was a notorious character that made
a few headlines.
He wants to send his regards to the smart asses
Are you a real Premium Patriot, I mean Parrots?

Thank you all for the tips. He did try a few Marlboro Rich
before this. I read they are only 1.56 mg nic.
I think the General Mint Minis may be the way to go.
He smokes Menthol. I'm getting him some info since
he's not big on forums
Three words. General Mini Mint. If that causes a similar reaction then perhaps he'd best look elsewhere for nic replacement. It has a mild enough flavor and mild enough nic level that even non tobacco users would be unlikely to put off by it. Not coincidentally Mini-Mint is likely the best intro in the snus world for folks who've never used smokeless tobacco before.
It just goes to show you can't judge one's reaction to
snus on some manhood test,etc.
Me you can call a woose if you desire. I am a more of
a west coast hippie. I don't own a gun and I weigh
about 145 LBS. Yet I can handle the Skruf Xtra Stark.
Thanks for all your advice. I haven't smoked a cigarette
in 25 days!! Woooo Hoooo!
Is it common to be a real asshole when switching
from cigs to snus?
It's common to be a real asshole when trying to get off cigs by any other means than snus. Nicotine withdrawal will do that to ya. I can attest. Any other momentary assholiness is just my cantakerous personality.
I don't watch tv any more. Not in that pretentious "I don't watch television" way, but in the, "my wife took over the tivo and I hate cop/legal dramas and reality tv" way.
I wasn't calling anyone a wuss. Pink cans with flowers and rainbows don't particularly go with machine guns. I don't do starks, they make my face flush and itch. So, I mostly do regular flavored snuses including minis.
This thread is just crazy, but I like it. I will refrain from calling anyone a ninny or making vagina jokes, but I am compelled to say that the puking phenomenon pretty much has me baffled. When I was 12 we used to dip Kodiak because we were too afraid to try alcohol and drugs just yet. We didn't puke, we just did cartwheels and shouted "weeeeee". I think I was going to say something about being a pansy, but I forgot what it was... (ahem. weeeeeee!)
Gees, I hope you don't mean me. You quoted me, but I can't see any assholishness in my post. If anything, I am less assholish then normal.
No, myself
My friend has been a Type 1 diabetic since his youth.
He doesn't believe this had any effect on his snus
experience but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone
has any info.
So I would like to put together a sampler of minis. It seems like Buysnus has a good assortment so could you guys give me a rundown of maybe your top...
