    introduction and Snus story

I always enjoyed a good dip of American tobacco here and there especially when outdoors...I crave it then. Online about a week ago looking for good dip I came across articles about Snus. Which eventually led me here. Then I was led to a not so distant tobacco shop here in Texas to see if they have even heard of snus. They had Camel brand and typical dip but off in the corner was a small refrigerator full of General snus. At a 99c introductory price I grabbed ten cans. Then I tried it....I promptly went back in and got another 17 cans!! I will probably still enjoy the occasional dip of Copenhagen but General white is now my favorite "dip" if you will. The wintergreen is also quite tasty and the risk of oral cancers seems lower with Snus. For health mindful dippers I could not recommend snus enough. Now I'm off to discover other flavors....

My introduction to snus came back in 2010. I got a few cousins that was snusing, and they tried to get me onto it. They even gave me a free can of Skruf Stark, but somehow I managed to loose it. I don't know how that happened ... so there wasn't any snus for me just yet. Later that year a friend of mine gave me a General Sterk White, and I decided to put the bag under my lip. It felt quite good, and I couldn't understand why I didn't try it before. However, earlier all I was offered was Skruf, and I can tell you that I hate Skruf, so that would probably turned me off when it came to snus.

Later that year I started buying my own snus. The first cans I got was the Skruf Tranbär (Cranberry) original portion and the General Original White. I liked them both, but probably enjoyed the General a bit more, especially since the Skruf was a bit too salty for my liking.

Later on I've ventured into different snus, and I find myself enjoying loose snus the most. The first can of loose I ever bought was Röda Lacket, and it was a nice experience to handbake and create a prilla for myself ... Today I only buy loose snus for myself as I find that the 42 grams of tobacco lasts me for a longer time than the 21 grams (or whatever it is now a days) in the portion can does. I'm actually only half way down in my can of General loose that I opened on Thursday ... So half a can of loose in 4 days is not too bad. And I'm glad I don't use too much, 'cause snus is terribly expensive here in Norway.

However. I started with portions, but today I'm on loose for most of the time. I prefer the natural tobacco flavors over the flavoured snuses, with one exception: Wintergreen snus from Offroad and Thunder. Too bad it is quite hard to find around here ...

So yeah thats sort of like my snus story, how I was introduced to the product, and what I prefer using.

Awesomeness! I have got to try some loose soon. I do like the pouches though for ease of use but growing up in the South loose is by far the most commonly used tobacco out here next to smoke sticks

That's a great story! Yes snus is considered far safer than American dip. You're obviously a natural if you love it straight off the bat like that - something others who make the transition are not always as fortunate with.

Loose definitely gives you the whole flavour experience, but the portions are so convenient that it's hard to imagine life without them!

congratulations on discovering the true and righteous path!

Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!

When I tried General it was a dollar a can intro price and ditto on choosing White and Wintergreen. I switch around and sometimes something I liked before hits me as off, like too salty usually. Always wonder how consistent each can is. I buy all Los and pack my portion in a tea bag. Now MAYBE Los is less salty since your supposed to make your pri and put it in naked. Anyway. It'll be a year in. February and I'm still fine with my 4 or so a day mixed with snuff and vaping.

Imperial Tobacco, makers of Skruf and Knox
            by Guest
Imperial Tobacco is the parent company of Skruf (pronounced 'Skroof' and Knox brands of Swedish snus. Skruf is probably the second most popular snus brand in Sweden and one of the top most popular snus brands in the growing American market.

Skruf was started by two life long friends who saw an opportunity to make a big future for a small product - Jonas Engwall and Adam Gillberg.

Life long friends and entrepreneurs, Jonas and Adam, sat down in 2001 to discuss how they could use their skills gained in the world of finance to build a business in an area they were passionate about.
