New Research is more Good News for Snus

All in all, the study found that there is "a small increased risk of death from a heart attack or stroke among users of smokeless tobacco products compared with non-users."

Thanks for posting this. My grandpa suffered from a stroke and he used to chew tobacco.

On the flip-side, the stroke may have occurred anyway, whether or not he chewed tobacco. Statistically, his stroke was probably not caused by smokeless tobacco use. However, I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa.

Wonder what the comparative risk is for those who smoke? Would have to guess that it is considerably higher.

For me it's about managing risk, not eliminating risk all together.

If I wasn't snusing I would be eating more. Obesity is a problem in America and obesity has it's own stroke risks.

            http://www.harvardscience.harvard.ed...now-measurable

...The analysis also showed that for each unit increase in BMI, a man's chances of having a stroke increased by 6 percent. Generally, a unit increase in BMI translates into a weight gain of roughly 7.4 pounds for a 6-foot man and 6.2 pounds for a 5-foot-6-inch man...

                Is this from personal experience?

Nothing really good about reports that link snus to cardiovascular deaths.
