sore gums

i am new to the wonderful world of snus and as of late my gums are sore i am wondering if this is because i havent been snusing very long.the snus i have is very good and has a really good nic to it like the general onyx i.

I have been using for 2+ years and have no issues with such. Been too long to remember if I ever did at the beginning.

But yes, I am betting your issues have to do with it being new to you. So much salt in the snus, just takes a bit for your body to fully adjust to it.

If you are getting soreness on the part where your gum meets your canine tooth, you can fold one corner of the portion back to avoid contact with that area. As a side effect it makes it harder to see when you smile.

You can also fold them in half and avoid most all contact with the edges of your gums if you want.

that helps to confirm what i was thinking. never thought about the salt part. so far i am really liking this snusing the flavors are really nice and the best part is now my wife is very happy that in the week i have been snusing i have only smoked a half pack of luckys!!!!

I've been using nothing but los all week, pretty heavy. The upper part of my lips are wrinkly, and yes a spot that I don't use often became a little sore, nothing major. I've been snusing for about a year and I think it's because it's a new spot. No big deal. I just switched to the other side of my lip :wink:

I get sore gums every so often when I overdo the snus. It goes away after a short while.

My gums got sore when i first started. Went away after about 2 weeks if i remember correctly.

that works for me. i am also thinking about trying some los but i have heard some things about what in the snus world is called a mud slide, so i am a bit not sure about trying it lol

My gums burn every once in a while, especially when I'm using high-nicotine los. This may sound masochistic, but I enjoy the burn!

to each there own. i am just glad that i wasn't the only one who had the burning of the gums. i am really liking the snus i have tried so far and i am not going to quite ether!!!

I agree it's mostly due to the salt.

Move it around to different spots each new snus.

Drink plenty of fluids. It too will pass.

Make sure to keep drinking something. Mostly water, but iced tea goes great with "straight" flavor snus lime general, ettan, grov etc. It'll go away with time. Just cut down a bit, switch sides and keep some liquid by you.
