FWIW, I have been using snus for about 2 years, and have been on this or a predecessor forum the entire time and NEVER has had a reaction like this to snus.

So my guess is unrelated illness issues, and certainly the illness may have not liked the snus, so the snus could be contributing to the illness fairing up if you will.

    OR, you are the first.

Please come back and post in a few days when you have had a chance to really tell

it has to be an unrelated illness. food poisoning or a virus. I have never encountered a tobacco/nicotine related reaction that started after a night of sleep and I have been using tobacco for over 15 years.

      edit

      look up Gastroenteritis

i know, it's weird. of course, it can be an unrelated illness, but it can't be gastroenteritis, there was no temperature or diarrhea involved. i'll take a rest for a few days, start over and let you know how i'm doing.

i'm a guinea pig, yee haw!

I'll be the stick in the mud and say that you should probably ask a doctor about it first. I agree that there is a good chance it was not the snus, but I would not want to go through all of that again unless I was sure. There are people out there who are allergic to certain kinds of tobacco, depending on how it is prepared and how it is ingested.

          Just my two pesos...

It's pretty obvious that not having the problems until the 3rd day, at least it's not ALL of the snus, but maybe something you used on the 2nd day, probably towards the end of the day. But I'm having a hard time with that as well.

It's also possible that you have some sort of serious problem that you need to see a doctor about. I've never heard anybody ever had a reaction like that to any form of nicotine. Besides being an allergic reaction to one of the flavorings (again, not likely since it would have happened nearly immediately after using it) I can't think of anything other than an existing medical condition that would cause that sort of reaction, possibly made worse by the build up of snus juice in your body.

you peeps are trying to creep me out, aye? but seriously, i hear you and thanks for the inputs. first i'll try with smaller doses and if i get any weird pain in my head and/or stomach, i'll stop. and go see a doctor. i know that was not by any means a normal reaction to snus or tobacco. and i've never been alergic to anything, either.
so maybe it was just a reaction to a few variables - too much snus for the unexperienced user, not enough food that day, maybe a glass of wine too much in the evening, maybe there's even traces of cold i had a week before. if not, then i guess i should hand my case to professionals a.k.a. doctors. we'll see in a few days.

I'm also guessing some sort of allergy to an ingredient in the snus. It may have taken a little while for your immune system to bend to it. I hope it's not, for your sake, but that's my uneducated guess.

That would mean he is allergic to life. No that would suck!

My advice: do not swallow the stuff if it makes you sick (and I think it does) no matter if you like the taste or not. I do lös and spit it out. I am in the "it must be a virus" camp.

i don't really get the "don't swallow" thing... i can't go around spitting all day. in the office, in my car, in my house, in public, playing drums... in any of those situations i can't spit around, and that would make snus more of a hassle than cigarettes to me. besides, spitting everything and not swallowing any saliva for an hour or so, a few times a day... that would be just weird to me.

Swallowing simply shouldn't be an issue with snus. If whatever juice snus is producing IS making you sick, then consider yourself the maybe 1 to 2% unlucky few whom snus is not for. But I am really thinking your sickness had nothing to do with the snus. Only time will tell Mr. Lab Rat.

i dont think its the snus....maybe the nicotine on an empty stomache or while dehydrated coupled with a cold...but if you keep swalling the juice just take a sip of water with it...thats wut i do in class anyways

Perhaps it is the salt in snus. I've heard of people with high blood pressure having the same symptoms.
