I'm in need of funds for Laboratory Tests

have you gotten a vitamin hair analysis. I think you should start small to rule out any deficiencies. I know anxiety and encephalitis causes those same symptoms. Could be viral. check your liver function. lyme doesn't seem too likely.
-
I have to agree with Heders here. I think the chances of having lyme are remote, and the likelyhood of it being caused by anxiety is high. Why does the test cost so much?
Normally, if the doctor thinks you need the test than they will get you one. It appears as though the doctors dont have any reason to believe it is lyme. I would try to not worry about it and learn to deal with the anxiety, as it can be debilitating if you allow it to convince you that you are sick.

While you guys have those check books out, I need funds to help me with my TAD disorder! Insurance refuses to cover it, and no copay either.

Interesting comparison - at least you get to have sex with herpes though.Originally posted by lxskllrYou always have Lyme, treated or not. I haven't studied it, but I think treatments just knock it down for awhile, but like herpes, it can come back again in the future.

Govegan,
That is pure madness, $19,000 for a night in the ER. Jesus Christ, at least I didn't have to pay for the ER a few days ago when I ended up there feeling like crap.My father in law doesn't have insurance and ended up owing $19,000 for one night in the ER for chest pains.
I can't agree more that exercise, diet, and talking short walks every day would help loads, it does help anyone with any given condition or even the healthy people. I will start by just doing that, and in fact I am trying to stay as healthy as possible, including the diet. I have recently stopped eating bread (and eating rice, potatoes instead), stopped eating canned food or anything that comes packed, I concentrate more on fish/chicken and veggies/fruits.
I also gave up smoking, it's over a month now and only use snus twice a day.
I am not sayign that I don't agree with headers, sure he knows what he's talking about and over the years I have tried everything for anxiety, didn't really concentrate on meditation. I have been feeling like crap for 7 years so imagine that I have tried lots of methods to get over it, but it seems that my health condition gets worse at times then it gets better and so on I can't understand what is going on that is why I am trying to find another route especially when I cannot function.
The problem, and it's a big problem is that currently I live in a state that is damned with corruption everywhere, I mean everyone is corrupt and definitely the medical area is THE most corrupt these days. Without pushing serious money on the table (even with insurance you can stay sick for years or even die) there are a lot of people dying yes. That's our system.
I have to pull the money out of my pocket and that is why I am trying to fund raise some money right now when I am basically unable to work anymore, or get a job because I have to pull everything out of my pocket to see a doctor. It's a joke if you go to the hospital or my family doctor they laugh of you or even worse they come up with so stupid diagnosis you just can't believe it. One thing is for sure, and yes I am paranoid about it because it's been 7 long year snow.... I don't wan to swallow pills like crazy for anxiety for example or arthritis if I don't have these illneses, if there is another underlying cause to this lets assume Lyme then why would I swallow like crazy such dangerous drugs all day and never get better, hope you guys understand what I mean.
For some reason, my diagnosed conditions which are arthritis, sinusitis, anxiety, depression, cervical spondilosis are all HIGHLY linked to LYME disease, every single Lyme patient has at one point in their life been diagnosed with these condition. It's really sad that in Romania, and not only but in the US as well many people are misdiagnosed and they're taking medication for illneses that they don't have. There are millions of cases and I don't want to be a victim for ever just because the doctors are giving a damn about me.

Anyway for some particular reason I think that I should have not even started this thread because I knew exactly the opinions I'd get, but thanks anyways for the help. I had the thread started on another forum and I just got some much hate from it that I can barely understand. People are obviously quite paranoid that I might be looking to rip them off, don't get me wrong I am just as scarred as someone anyone would be that has my symptoms on daily basis. I only want to see as soon as possible what is going on with me, and unless I get some support I wouldn't be able to take the tests because I can barely function for the last 2 weeks hence cannot work to raise the money.
I guess the only option I have left is to see an PhD. to at least put me on some meds to manage to work further and see what's to be done from that point.

In all fairness, I think you were given some excellent advice especially by Heders. The medical system, at least here in the USA, is a big joke. My father in law doesn't have insurance and ended up owing $19,000 for one night in the ER for chest pains. I have been dealing with high blood pressure issues since I was a kid. I finally started taking medication and am up to 4 pills a day. After multiple pills and doctor visits, I have a modest and I do mean modest decrease in my blood pressure but it is still high by normal standards. My guess is I would be spending a small fortune on these pills if I didn't have medical insurance available to me. I know another family member who was recently diagnosed with asthma, she is in her 30's and must now spend $300.00 a month for an inhaler prescription. Fact is, most all of us have something wrong with is. If doctors can't find a reason for your ills, they will just say you have fibromyalgia and give you more pills and doctor visits. I saw that happen to a co worker. With Lyme disease, it appears that they give you antibiotics which may or may not work. The plain truth is all of that stuff works with limited success and it is very expensive. Your best bet is to try meditation, exercise and diet. That will help you regardless of whatever you might have and can all be done on the cheap unlike seeing a doctor or PHd. There is nothing wrong with you at least making contact with Heders and trying his approach.
Let me say this, not even a month ago I was feeling like crap. I am at least 80lbs overweight and was feeling tired and achy all the time. My excuse for my crappy diet was that I commute and am away from home at least 12 hours a day if not more. Fast food became a way of life. I justified it by saying it was cheap and easy to do. My wife pointed out to me that I can stop at any grocery store and buy a can of soup or veggie chili with some fruit for less than $3.00. I thought about that for a while and thought to myself "why not"? Now, I do it all the time. I eat healthy and save money by skipping Taco Bell and going to the grocery store or fruit stand. I also started walking at every break I get during work regardless of the weather or how busy I am. Not much, just for 15 minutes or so but I feel much better and more productive when I return to my desk. In fact, one week I took an hours vacation time from my employer and spread it out over several days so I could get in an extra walk during the day. He loved the idea and signed my vacation request for 1 hour without any hassle.
You know what? It has only been a month but I feel 3 times better now. I eat healthy and still save money. I take walks at every opportunity. I have much more energy now and feel a lot better about myself. It had nothing to do with pills or doctors visits. Just me. I honestly hope that you are able to get your tests. They might help or they might lead to an endless path of even more pills and more doctors. In the meantime, at least make contact with Heders and try meditation, exercise and diet. Think lots of fruits and veggies. Leave out anything with saturated fat as it will slow you down regardless of the amount. You have nothing to lose.
Anyway, I am glad you started that thread and even more honored that you asked us for help. I don't think this thread is a waste of time. By the looks of the posts in here, I would say that a lot of the forum members do care about you and are trying to help. Sorry for the rant and long post, I just needed to put in my 2 cents.

I've asked for $1,000 not 10,000 for the tests.Of course it's good to check it out, but $10,000 dollars for some tests is insane.

I'm still extremely sure that it's not lyme disease. I live in an area which is surrounded by forests, long grass etc. I have never heard of one case of that disease here, and people get bitten by ticks all the time. I've even got a friend who got one between his legs, lol. Of course it's good to check it out, but $10,000 dollars for some tests is insane.
I am no doctor, but what I know is that everything you describe comes from anxiety, which you say you have. It's extremely common to look up diseases and assume you have them because they seem to extreme to be just anxiety. But 99% of the times it's anxiety, because the sensations can be very extreme. I have experienced every sensation in the book, and also thought I was ill or had some kind of disease, but now I know what it was. Anxiety is completely normal and harmless but frightening.
I know that it is very difficult to be objective when you're suffering these symptoms, but I am being as objective as I can, and know what you're going through, and the possibility that you would have developed lyme disease is for me extremely remote.

I live in an area where Lyme is endemic. They no longer test for Lyme as a result of a tick bite, the protocol here is to assume Lyme and begin antibiotics. I have been through this half a dozen times, and so has my wife. I have lots of friends that have long term problems with Lyme, and it is debilitating. The point, not being familiar with the strain in Romania, is that what is done is done, there is no cure, just maintenance. The anxiety and stress you are suffering is also debilitating. There is no cure on the internet, seek local counseling, soon, is my advice.
Good luck and try to chill.

I will get the investigations as soon as possible.
The tick bit me when I was about 9 or 10 I cannot remember exactly, and stayed in my skin for about one day if I remember correctly and it was pulled out by my aunt using her nails and nothing else. I do remember having a fever for an entire week after the bite but no other symptoms until I was 19.
From what I know it doesn't take 48 hours to get infected. It's like saying you have to have sex 24 hours with a HIV infected person to actually get infected. Nope, LLMd's say that you can get infected even within minutes.
The only way to come up with a conclusion is a full virus table tests and nothing else. I will every know how this goes. Momentarily I will see a doctor in about 10 days or so, and probably will be send for the tests after.
Originally posted by Dirty HippyHeders, I completely agree with you on this.
Precious, over the course of my life time I have had literally hundreds of ticks on me and been bit, I'm an extreme hunter and fisher who ventures deep into the woods on a weekly basis. One day just this summer I had six different ticks on me, and I have never tested positive for Lyme disease. It is possible that you have Lyme disease, I think that option should be investigated thoroughly.
However, you should know that not all ticks carry lyme disease, only a specific few actually do, in great number and that is the deer tick. When you were bit as a child did you experience a rash? Flu like symptoms after you were bit within a couple of weeks? How long was the tick on you? (minutes? Days?) In what manner did your relative removed the tick? I think the possibility of infection almost a decade after being bit to be super slim. A lyme infected tick has to be physically attached to you for almost 48 hours before bacterial infection could actually occur.
I'm not trying to be an asshole, please do not take it that way, but I bet you are experiencing multiple facets of anxiety, anxiety can wreak havoc on a person, including many of the symptoms you are speaking of. Severe nervousness, nauseous to the point you throw up, tense muscles, extreme vertigo, muscle pain, racing heart, being foggy headed. If I had to guess, I'm not a doctor, but I bet, you have severe anxiety and hypochondria, which are all symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder. Or a possibly undiagnosed mental disorder.
I could be extremely wrong and I believe that you should get the money to fund a test, never totally trust a doctors opinion, but always keep yours open. Please let us know what you discover in the future in order to help out others who may be experiencing the same symptoms as you!
