    Teeth

    I was wondering,
In your experience, has snus caused you to get yellow teeth? Has it caused any other problems?
    I appreciate the responses,

Simple answer, no. Mine are whiter that when I smoked, I did have some staining on the top of my teeth where the snus sat but a whitening toothpaste took care of that no problems.

Good to know, my dad thinks my teeth are gonna fall out from snus. Yeah, right. One of the biggest lies the antis have conjured up.

Odens Extreme makes my upper teeth look a little funky, but it brushes off. The white portions don't seem to do it.

I don't stock in the company or anything, but Crest Whitening toothpaste helped mine, even when I smoked.

Yes, it is a problem but my teeth look better now compared to when I smoked. I think sleeping with a portion might be the cause. My gums have also been receding and this concerns me a bit.

I think snus has contributed to my teeth darkening. That being said I drink coffee and tea every day too. Tea stains stuff more than coffee IMO. Yeah, the whitening toothpastes work a little better in that department...if only they made them in non-mint.

To this end I asked my dentist (a couple of weeks ago) for a prescription toothpaste. It was $12 so I bought it. (they probably charged my insurance $100 though) I do notice that it works better but I was told to only use it once a day and use half the amount I normally use. There's a ridiculously high level of fluoride in there (which I didn't think was whitening) so my belief is they'll be better protected against plaque. I've read and also believed that the Ph of your mouth is slightly off when snusing too. Makes sense. This also makes a less hospitable environment for many common bacteria...that's probably a good thing.

All in all, my dentist has been the same for about five years. They never asked if I use tobacco or anything for any reason. No bone loss, no gum recession (in fact I had it when I smoked...now it's gone), everything is better than smoking as far as my mouth is concerned.

Wine screws up your teeth more. Maybe that's my problem. My wife now is the director of operations at a wine distributor and every few Fridays she comes home with a case. each bottle has about a glass gone from it. My mission for the weekend is to not let it go bad. (technically I turn it into happiness and piss) ...and apparently teeth staining. huh.

After five years of using I have noticed very minimal staining if any, but even those tiny spots could have been there before snus.

What about those strips? or dental whitening booths at the mall? If you actually did have stains I would probably look into that.

I haven't noticed anything permanent, just occasionally a bit of brown on the teeth when I have one in

After 7-8 years of snus I have noticed very little staining, and I drink tea and coffee every day. Wine a few nights a week.

I stopped snus recently due to getting invisalign braces and my teeth whitened noticeably. They weren't that bad to begin with however. I guess I would say that snus does color the teeth a bit, just not permanently.

No noticable permanent staining from what I can notice. I drink coffee every day and snus the life out of me, original portions, white portions and lös, and have been for the last 5-6 years.

                                Snus tobacco and teeth

                                Hello friends…
Are you taking any prevention for your teeth from the snus? I used to brush twice sometimes thrice for keeping my teeth white. Are you using any teeth whitening products?
